The big thing when I worked for Government was guys getting BIG promotions along with monstrous salary increases shortly before retirement.
That is why we have such a national debt, no one ever thinks about what they are spending money on, or when we should stop. Some agencies were loaded with excess employees.
Pensions can last 40-50 years when someone retires young. Twenty-one years to a person, who became a government employee at 23 or 24 means by 45...we are taking care of them for rest of their lives.
