I didn’t see any shoring in any photos or videos of the bridge when it was installed. Someone must have figured that the structure was self supporting under just its own weight - incorrectly.

Pretty massive shoring shown in place during placement from FIU published photo of four days ago. Lot of heavy steel cribbing to distribute load to roadway below. Wonder if they remained in place before crushing cars during the collapse.
