Having just attended the Ann Coulter event in Mountain View, California, I thought I would share some highlights (and lowlights) of the experience.
My wife and I traveled from out of state to visit my parents and attend the event. They belong to the hosting organization, The Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley, and we were able to attend as their guests.
We arrived pretty early, as the security was understandably very stringent. The MVPD had a street blocked off and only allowed ticketed attendees access to the venue. They also had a strong presence in the parking lot. The MVPD deserves a lot of credit for handling the event in an efficient and professional manner. There were no incidents, at least none that I'm aware of.
The only trouble we encountered in terms of leftists were two frumpy-looking middle aged women at the parking lot entrance holding a sign that said something about hate, and they said shame on you to our car as we entered the parking lot. (I didn't get a good look at the sign, since I was in the back seat of the car.) The fact that it was a rainy night might have had something to do with the lack of protester turnout. The antifa snowflakes probably didn't want to leave their cozy basements during such horrible weather (58 degrees and drizzly).
(By the time we left, only one of the two women remained, and she was too busy chatting up a cop when we left to shame us again. I felt cheated.)
We got in line, and had to wait about 45 minutes, as the security to get in the building was also tight. We all had to get wanded and any bags searched. There were no protesters in evidence in the courtyard of the building, but there was plenty of news media, so I suppose you could say there were leftists present. The worst thing they did was interview people and point cameras at those waiting in line.
The whole thing finally got started about 15 minutes late, as it took a long time to get everyone in. The MC (Forum President Joel Fine) pointed out that this event was their first ever sold-out event, and therefore the attendance was higher than ever. The place really was packed!
Ann came out after her introduction and launched into her very Ann Coulter-like presentation about Trump and immigration. She seemed a bit concerned that Trump might be going wobbly on building the wall, and that some of his recent utterances about gun-control are potentially troubling.
She wanted the audience to remind Trump that we didn't elect him because of his personality (and I might add, by extension, his hair), but to end illegal immigration (and chain migration, and anchor babies). She indicated that if that doesn't happen, woe to all of us, as the USA will be over as we know it.
She did bring up some uncomfortable truths about various ethnic groups and their stances on certain liberties, specifically freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. Basically, when certain ethnic groups become the majority in politics, those rights become much less secure. Immigration policies, such as they are now, are hastening that day.
She also made an interesting point regarding the home-grown African-American community. She pointed out that no sooner did the Civil Rights Act pass in 1964, Ted Kennedy pulled the rug out from them by championing the immigration reform of 1965, and it's all been downhill for African-Americans and everyone else since then.
Ann mentioned how the leftist media stifles arguments that they keep losing by continually placing certain words off limits. It's an ever-expanding list.
The most recent brouhaha involves her March 8th tweet about how the Huffington Post tried to make the term globalist off limits by claiming it's a code-word/right-wing dog whistle for Jew. When a leftist media outlet says that dog whistle terms are for the right, what they really mean is, listen up, lefties, it's Pavlovian conditioning time! Once again, they are using the Alinsky tactic of accusing the opposition of what they're actually doing, or what is known as projection.
The term in question, globalist, is now a pejorative for Jews, (according to the leftist word-changers) and everyone needs to be on the lookout for it!
Ann was having a little fun at the expense of the humorless, Pavlovian-conditioned left by subsequently tweeting names of known Jews as globalists.
In other words, IT WAS A JOKE.
(There was nothing mean-spirited about what she tweeted, unless the corporate entity known as The Huffington Post self-identifies as Jewish, and therefore took offense to being mocked for its obvious attempt at changing the meanings of words.)
This particular issue is where I bring up the lowlights, as we had some (small-L) liberal family members get their panties wrapped around the axle over the fact that we were attending such a hateful event, and that my parents even had the temerity to attempt to force an adult grandchild to change her political views by inviting her to the event. The (small-L) liberal family members even canceled a planned dinner date with all of us just for planning to attend the event (that'll show us!).
So, during the Q&A session, one of the questions that was mysteriously submitted was about (small-L) liberal family members who were upset that other family members were attending the event headlining an anti-Semite, in reference to the tweets about globalists.
Ann's response was pretty much, IT WAS A JOKE. Additionally, she said something to the effect of What I'd really like to say is, 'eff off.' That got some applause!
Afterwards my wife and I got in line to have a copy of one of her books signed. Ann graciously posed for a picture with us while signing the book. She was very patient with the large crowd, and seemed to enjoy interacting with her fans. Even her security detail seemed pretty at ease with the crowd, as they probably recognized that it wasn't composed of the threatening type. Most of the attendees weremature, mostly well-dressed, and definitely well-behaved.
A good time was had by all, with the possible exception of the two protesters.

Good report...glad to hear Ann Coulter is still making appearances in the SF Bay area.
Did she talk about her experiences in Berkeley at all?
Thanks for the (well-written) report!
Only briefly. She implied that liberals in Berkeley are “special.”
Good write-up. Thanks for the report.
Cool! Thanks!
Thanks for the good report.
DARN...the IFES Society Hall is only 2.7 miles from my house. Unfortunately, I had not heard about this event. Events of this type are so rare here that I don’t even bother looking for them. Would have liked to have heard Ms. Coulter speak.
South Bay Ping!
FYI Dennis Prager was at UC Berkeley last night schooling two liberal students. I recommend the 1 hour video . Maybe at dennisprager.com
Lucky for the rain cuz that town is VERY liberal.
It’s common for people who work in-town to keep their lips totally zipped, politics-wise.
It’s very easy to find yourself jobless, all of a sudden.
Great report! Thank you Freeper. Next best thing to being there.
More info at: The Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley. For now, they are continuing to use their old URL "theconservativeforum.com."
The Conservative Forum has held some outstanding speaker series over the years.
Interestingly, "TheLibertyForum.com" is for sale for $2,695 -- some squatter must own it.
“Shame on you!”
‘Please kill yourself.’
We just smiled at them.
Interesting.
“The Conservative Forum” to “The Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley” on January 1, 2019.

Thanks for the nice report. It sounds like Ann, glad you enjoyed yourselves.
Glad Ann was in a cooperative mood. She’s usually a raging witch. Not that I don’t think she’s 100% correct on every issue. But holy cripe... I had the misfortune of meeting her in 2012 and she was unbearable.
