The family of slain Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against Fox News, one of the network's reporters, and a wealthy Texas businessman over their roles in the publication of a baseless conspiracy theory about Rich's 2016 death.
The lawsuit, filed in US District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeks compensation for "mental anguish and emotional distress, emotional pain and suffering, and any other physical and mental injuries."

Yes, I have always thought that Seth Rich was probably the leaker. This lawsuit by his parents: It would seem like they have to PROVE that whatever FoxNews reported/suggested was FALSE, which would seem that they should have to PROVE that Seth was NOT the leaker?
Maybe someone who is up on the legalities of this type of thing can clarify.
For them to prove that Seth was not the leaker, it seems like they would have to prove who WAS the leaker?
Or, is this too logical?
I sincerely hope that FoxNews DOES NOT even consider settling on this due to (1) that would set a terrible precedent (2) by defending themselves, we might find out what really happened to Seth Rich and how the emails really got to WikiLeaks.
If FoxNews does settle or end up liable in this deal, seems like CNN and NBC had better get ready for dozens of similar lawsuits, for those whose feelings have been hurt by something (untrue) that they have reported.
Hope this doesn’t take 2 more years for this all to play out.
The truth set us free, John
very relevant.
If it was an old fashioned robbery, which the family thinks it is, how is all the conspiracy stuff going to catch the real killer?
To me it proves there are people with money who want to embarrass Fox News and make it look unreliable.
If it was a political murder, wouldn't the powers that be just want people to forget about it?
It's not like FNC is actively pursuing the story now.
