Rick Stansbury is a jerk no matter what day it is.
After Western Kentucky defeated UAB 98-70 in Conference USA Tournament Thursday, Stansbury was disrespectful to Stadium sideline reporter Laura Britt.
Britt asked the coach about Western Kentucky's upcoming game against Old Dominion, a team they've beaten twice this year. The reporter wanted to know if they game would be more difficult knowing Old Dominion would be seeking revenge for a 22-point loss on Feb. 24.
Stansbury rolled his eyes at the question and addressed Britt as "honey," while answering the question in a condescending way.
"Honey, you understand those other two games have nothing to do with this game no matter how much we beat them by, has absolutely nothing to do with it," Stansbury said. "Old Dominion is one of the better teams in this league, they've been good right from the jump and we know we have to play exceptionally well to win tomorrow night. Those other two games will have nothing to do with our preparation for us being ready."
Britt was able to keep calm and professional on the air, continuing to ask questions.
She later tweeted about the incident when a Twitter user said Stansbury owes her an apology. Britt pointed out that Thursday was International Women's Day.
Stansbury has been the head coach at Western Kentucky since March 2016. He was previously the head coach at Mississippi State from 1998-2012 before he chose to retire.

No in Kentucky as in many parts of the south honey is used when you don’t know someone’s name. (Or can’t remember it). It is genderless. (grammatically)
The guy is a typical narcissist who instead of appreciating some free press is compelled to denigrate her. He is an ass.
IMO, whether or not this guy is a jerk, calling a woman “honey” is not a hanging offense.
Feminism has certainly come a long way since the 60’s. I suspect in a few decades those male babies allowed to survive abortion will be surgically neutered at birth. They will probably be making artificial sperm that will be implanted while under anesthesia so the patient will not have to undergo the humiliation of intercourse. And the neutered males will be muscle bound pajama boys that do all the work.

Was this guy being condescending towards you or was it simply the way he addressed women? Was he an older man? Frankly unless this guy was a known letch it would have been far more appropriate to confront him in private and simply tell him to not refer to you by anything other than your name proceeded by your preferred gender tag.
You may believe you looked strong by what you did but in reality you more then likely humiliated a man who meant no disrespect to you. In doing that you made yourself look nasty and a bit of a bit*h.
Btw, NJ where I used to live is known as the State with the most Diners. To this day you can walk in anyone of them and expect to be greeted by a waitress using the “Hon” word to both men and women.
I have never heard anyone complain.

No, wrong. It is not whether or not it is appropriate. That is determined by whomever felt slighted. It was the way the woman who in a DESPERATE attempt to look tough could have handled the incident but instead came off as a bi*ch.

Perhaps in your eyes. Having spent years in the corporate world I can tell you that by publicly humiliating another employee you have made no friends and have lost respect among others who witnessed your overhyped “outrage”

He was not a fellow employee, he was interviewing for a job as youth director at our church and I am a lawyer volunteering on the pastor parish relations committee.
It doesn’t matter where it occurred. It’s the way you handled it which is the issue. It’s not as if he grabbed your butt or told you you had great boobs.
I would bet large and give long odds that he never gave what he said a second thought because like those waitresses in NJ it is not meant to be disrespectful.
