GUNS AND CRIMEGraham/Blumenthal bill uses mental illness catch-all to seize guns without due process
NOQ Report ^ | March 9, 2018 | David Leach

Posted on 03/10/2018 4:13:19 PM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

It was only a few days ago that I asked the question “Is mental illness becoming a catch-all for shredding the Constitution?” Though somewhat rhetorical in nature, I felt the question needed to be asked due to the Orwellian willingness of our elected officials to create laws empowering the government to prohibit individuals from buying a gun and to allow local authorities to seize firearms—by force, if necessary—from citizens without due process.

No warrant. No arrest. No charges. All that’s necessary for this blatantly unconstitutional act is to get a judge to issue an “extreme risk protection order” (ERPO).

Already the law in five states—and growing—ERPOs are sometimes issued after a family member petitions the court. But they can also be obtained via a police department petition if they receive an anonymous report from anyone who sees a person they consider to be a threat, such as what we witnessed in Seattle, Washington, recently.

Based only on the word of neighbors who considered a Seattle man a threat because he “stared” at them and wore a holstered firearm—which is legal in his community—the Seattle Crisis Response Squad forcibly confiscated his weapons from his home and the home of a family member. The Seattle resident had no police record and had never been so much as charged with a crime before this incident.

>>“Is mental illness becoming a catch-all for shredding the Constitution?”

The Progressive movement is patient. Every strange thing they’ve done over the past 50 years is suddenly bearing fruit.

1) Take away the ability to confine the mentally ill.
2) Declare most mental illnesses to be normal.
3) Declare anti-social behavior to be a mental illness.
4) Drug boys into submission using drugs that make them insane.
5) Wait for everything to go to hell.
6) Wring hands helplessly and wonder “what must we do?”
7) Voila! Take guns away from the people who aren’t crazy enough to confine and haven’t committed a crime yet, but are “scary”.
8) Keep making people crazy. Repeat #6-8.

I have had people tell me that ownership of more than one “home defense” firearm is enough to classify someone as dangerously insane.

“Room defense” firearms.

Graham of South Carolina has already politically slit his throat in South Carolina. His approval rate among South Carolina citizens is in the low 30s. He’s persona non grata in a number of counties, where county Republicans refuse to recognize him as a fellow Republican.

Graham refuses to show up at public meetings unless the meetings are staged, and he’s surrounded by an armed pretorian guard.

His support of alien invaders has crushed whatever credibility he had. This anti-gun stunt will drop his support down into the low 20s.

If you are going to have a “Room Defense” firearm, you HAVE to have at least 4 backup or supporting devices for each room ....

From the article; Blumenthal shared how FERPA would have given authorizes the tools they lacked to stop Nikolas Cruz from murdering 17 people in Parkland, Florida.

No, we don't need any new taking away of our rights laws to avoid situations like Florida. We just need the damn cops, from the local to the federal level, to do their damn jobs!

They had all the "tools" they needed.

They deliberately failed to report the pervert shooter's criminal activity that would have shown up on the background check and prevented him from purchasing a gun in the name of stopping the "school to prison" pipeline.

Instead they shuffled him to the "school to mass-murder" pipeline.

O'Keef video - Twitter H1 Visa guy from India, regarding control of online tweets:

"We look at the tweets and if there are a number of mentions of Jesus and, say, shotgun, then we know it's a Russian bot. I mean, NO ONE in Hyderabad talks like that, right? No one talks like that..!"

And this guy was talking in *San Francisco*, can you beat that..?

What if you went over to Mumbai and deemed all those talking about CURRY or HINDUISM as "nuts", huh..?

Such mentions are abundantely NORMAL, there.

I see YUGE potential for abuse with this "crazy" stuff.

Because South Carolina has open primaries that allow Democrats to vote for the Republican of their choice, Flimsey Tinkerbelle will be causing trouble for years to come.

Confiscation by anonymous ex parte denunciation is here. No Feds, no BATFE, no 82nd Airborne, no nothing except rogue judges sending rogue cops to bang on your door. Beware anyone you’ve ever won an argument with & who knows you own guns.

It’s come to this.

***How about one for each room?***

Years ago the police investigated a domestic call in which the news media that night played up the “THEY FOUND A GUN IN EACH ROOM OF THE HOUSE!” angle. Nothing ever came of it.

Then there was a collector who for some reason had his collection of mint condition firearms confiscated. After court litigation and two years he got them back, rusted beyond use.
