Elderly and senior are a legal definitions.
From 55 to 65 you are considered a senior.
If you beat up or hit a senior, it is a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine.
Over 65 and you are legally considered elderly.
If you beat up or hit an elderly person, it is a felony and you go to jail for up to 15 years.
I'm early fifties and recently was offered a senior citizen discount on an oil change. I took it!
Now I make sure I look as old and decrepit as possible when I'm anywhere that might offer me a discount. Joke's on them! I run marathons!
“If you beat up or hit an elderly person, it is a felony and you go to jail for up to 15 years.”
I’m “elderly”. But just hypothetically...of course..what is the law if I break a few facial bones of an “elderly” democrat?
Well, I guess I fall into that elderly category.
But if somebody tries to beat me up or even hit me, they aren’t going to jail, they are going to the morgue.
I am just one of those old farts that has an extreme reaction to violence aimed towards me or my wife.
Darn! I did not consider myself senior. :(
