A 73-year-old concealed carry permit holder shot a 22-year-old suspect three times Thursday morning in Fresno, California, after the suspect allegedly attacked the permit holder with a stick. Your Central Valley reports that the permit holder was taking his normal, early morning walk along a canal when the suspect approached and a “verbal confrontation” ensued.
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said the confrontation escalated when the suspect allegedly “picked up a large stick or wooden object” and struck the 73-year-old. The elderly man pulled a handgun and shot the suspect three times in response.

I suspect you're right. One of my instructors recalls how he just looked at a potential perp and head motioned like you should move along and the guy moved along.
Well, I guess I fall into that elderly category.
But if somebody tries to beat me up or even hit me, they aren’t going to jail, they are going to the morgue.

If you are both seniors, it’s an offsetting penalty, so no foul. Same for elderly.

I think we need to know how many times the PERP was hit, where the perp was hit and whether or not the perp lives.
3 for 3 under stressful conditions? That is damn good shooting no matter the age. That he was hit hard enough that a trip to the ER was required and our old-guy-walking went home safe and sound....well, I’d say that is an excellent start.

She is a great conservative. She is also local to the Fresno area. Her father was a constable of the small town where I grew up.
He wouldn’t arrest the teenagers for doing what teenagers do. He would take them home and tell the parents what they had been up to. Great memories.
BTW .... He never took me or anyone I was with home to our parents. I know this from word of mouth.
