They did return with a warrant. But does anyone believe that he'll get it back in a year?

This event has been reported in several places but I didn't find this under this title.

People, including the NRA, have been screaming “Mental Health!” for awhile now. Well, here it is.

He looked at me funny - take his gun.

Really? That’s all it takes to lose your rights now?

This threat was not emergent. The guy (who I'll agree sounds a bit looney-tunes) had been doing this for awhile. While I agree that he shouldn't have the gun, I think that the talking heads should have just shut up about the back story. Misuse of a well-intended law. Some people just have to brag!

Since when does carrying a holstered sidearm and staring at people constitute grounds for forced disarmament? How many and what type of complaints are considered just cause for erpo? Was he threatening to draw the weapon, shoot or were people intimidated just because he was armed (well, it is Seattle)?

Dubious reasons for me without additional detail.

So he had a gun and he wore it in plain sight and it made people nervous. People thought he looked at them funny. How is that a danger to himself or others.

Did he ever threaten anyone. Does he have an explosive temper? Is he on Meds for mental health particularly SSRI that have side effects of violent thoughts?

People will rue the day when they hopped on the mental health bandwagon. Remember that the Soviet Union regularly locked up political dissidents for Mental Health reasons.

So if you don’t toe the line, these Marxists that have infiltrated everything, are going to declare you crazy. In fact, a sleezy TV personality already more or less called Pence crazy because he prays to God.

Assault has always been against the law.

And what’s to stop him from buying another gun?

legally remove guns from people deemed a danger

This could be a sound, logical, perhaps even noble intention. However, as our founders noted men tend to abuse powers. Those tasked to decide the deeming will determine whether this is noble or nefarious in direct relationship with how corruptible they become.

Confiscation re. ERPO is now proposed for MA from their lawmakers. Gov. Baker promises to sign it.

"“He was roaming the hallways with a .25 caliber automatic,” said Tony Montana'" Scarface_M16 I think Tony is being coy. He knows a little about guns.

This is confiscation folks, pure and simple. This is going to get worse and will eventually turn violent. I don't know the situation but It really does not matter how this guy was acting. If he did not break any laws there is no justification for taking his firearm and doing so is an unconstitutional and illegal confiscation.

For many years I have opposed the NRA and pro gun position of just "enforce the gun laws on the books". I have always maintained if we actually did that pro gun people would realize we lost our second amendment rights a long time ago. I do not want ANY gun laws enforced. Every gun law on the books anywhere is unconstitutional. This simply can't be argued. There are no qualifiers for 2nd amendment rights. Even convicted felons should be able to own a firearm just like anyone else once their sentence has been served and they have paid their dept to society.

We should have been more careful about what we wished for cause we are about to get just that and it's not going to be pretty.

The article is missing some facts. People should be more concerned about exactly what the related statute says.

I wouldn’t trust Washington (state) to resist the temptation to go full Soviet with ERPOs.

Well, Seattle (aka Moscow-East) would drive any sane person insane with their Marxist policies and racism against the average white person.

Just listen to their insane governors of the state, the mayors of Seattle, and the City Council Democrat majority.

They are enough to drive me crazy and I live 3,000 thankful miles from them.

Beautiful city, infested with reds and druggies.
