According to Wikipedia the age of consent in France was set as:
Age 11 in 1832
Age 13 in 1863
Age 15 in 1945

I haven’t read the whole article but this is probably a tweaking of the 1945 law. Possibly to make rape of minors easier to prosecute.
Somewhat interestingly in 1942 France legally set the age of consent for homosexual acts at 21.
That was lowered to 18 in 1974 and to 15 in 1982.
The French have been going downhill for awhile.

That 11 year old level age of consent in the early 1800s is shocking to me.
