It appears that Delta Airlines gave up a $40 million tax break over a mere thirteen passengers, according to a Friday report.
A spokesperson for the Atlanta based company revealed that only 13 passengers had used their National Rifle Association membership to purchase tickets with Delta Airlines, reports USA Today
The airline company confirmed that number to The Daily Caller News Foundation Friday afternoon.
Georgia Republican lawmakers passed a bill Thursday that removed a tax break on jet fuel that would have heavily benefited Delta in response to the cancellation.

If shareholders in Delta have a lick of sense, every big wig who thought attacking the NRA was a great idea should be sent packing.
Delta is obviously headed by at least one emotional twit. Shareholders should sweep the board clean of these fools, and start over.

Balance that with those sympathetic to the NRA and the sum is a loss of business. And a huge loss of tax break. The stock-holders need to hold an emergency meeting and deal with the board. Huge mistake.
And a lot of free NEGATIVE advertising to conservatives who, though they may not be members of the NRA, understand that this is really an insult to all deplorables.
I didn’t even know that delta offered a discount. I have been lifetime since 1980 and haven’t looked into the benefits in years. I have flown delta numerous times since then. To bad now I am boycotting Delta.
As far as advertising goes, Delta is alienating a large portion of their customers. A good ad campaign makes eveybody feel good. This is not the way to build your customer base.
Exactly. And, $40MM might have represented additional profits to the stock owners and/or raises for the employees and/or lowered costs for customers.

From what I heard this morning, Delta’s not backing down, either.
Let’s put them out of business by not USING their business.

This is a case of “the grapes were sour anyway” .... Delta saying the NRA discount wasn’t used but 13 times.
NRA members don’t join for the ‘discounts’. By trying to minimize the discount issue (only 13 used them anyway), I think Delta realizes they’ve kicked the hornets’ nest (otherwise, why say anything?) .... all those NRA members who did not join for the discount & who did not use the discount will no longer be flying Delta. That’s a vastly larger number than 13. Delta didn’t have the courage to resist the #metooanti-gun virtue signalers & certainly will not have the courage to reverse course.
