President Trump on Wednesday voiced support for confiscating guns from certain individuals deemed to be dangerous, even if it violates due process rights.
I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy mans case that just took place in Florida ... to go to court would have taken a long time, Trump said at a meeting with lawmakers on school safety and gun violence.
Take the guns first, go through due process second, Trump said.

Those deemed to be dangerous so he means liberals and muslims since have committed all the shootings and bombings.
OK, “Trump walks on water” people, defend THIS insanity.
You prefer tyranny. Might consider revising your screen name. Not to worry, presuming you're involving law enforcement they will be taking grandpa's guns with due process. Lack of involvement was the problem here.
It will stick like Geo HW's tarbaby "read my lips; no new taxes".
Has Trump lost his mind? Someone better get to him and explain the constitution, especially the bill of rights.
“May God HElp America if he really said that! I dont believe it!!”
Believe it. He said it. And the Rats are going to play that clip on every commercial, at every rally, every convention, etc.
Exactly.
A crazy person with guns does not get due process just like a robber with guns gets no due process. The Constitution does not trump natural rights and common law My handle is just fine.
He has been more conservative than any other Republican except maybe Reagan and he’s just getting started.
Mr President, here are the facts of life: Those that hate you will hate you forever regardless of what you do to appease them. It will make them laugh at you but they will still hate you with all their ability to hate. Those of us who have supported you will also move on if we have to and if you push us away. So you lose and you lose with these comments. Beware!
I’m curious where you got that list. It’s my understanding that many states reporting is selective. Additionally, voluntary commitments may not appear at all since they’re not necessarily disqualifying. Still, the danger issue may not be addressed. However you’re talking about involuntary court ordered commitments when you talk about NICS, the President simply talks about mental illness. This is an aspect of the NICS law that needs to be addressed.
For the sake of all things good, Donnie, please keep out of this mess. You are are attempting to pick up a turd by the clean end and it will not end well for all good people. Read your job description, this is nowhere to be found in that document. That rumbling sound you hear in the background is the sound of gorge rising in the throats of ten’s of millions of American men.
The NRA is on thin ice? You mean the Republic itself, don’t you? I’ll not negotiate my rights away for anyone - Trump included.
Yeah, but during a divorce, soon-to-be ex-wives will say *anything* to get at their soon-to-be ex-husbands. Accusations of violent threats, child abuse and the like. Do these men deserve no due process before having guns taken? This is NOT a federal issue for sure.
I think it was Rush who said that every time Government fails it grows larger and more powerful.
Thanks for nothing, Mr. Trump.

yep
Due process is involved in all of that. If the President meant that the police should be authorized to disarm an individual when he's detained, not at the end of court proceedings, that's what happens now. He should clarify that.
Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
You would think.
Im sure he doesnt mean it its just 6 dimensional chess blah blah. Our second amendment rights are in real jeopardy and we cannot count on trump to stand up for them
“Believe it. He said it. And the Rats are going to play that clip on every commercial, at every rally, every convention, etc.”
I can believe it, but I’m not sure how useful it’d be to the left as a political tool since it probably mollifies their voters as much as it depresses ours.
