A coalition of 20 U.S. states sued the federal government on Monday over Obamacare, claiming the law was no longer constitutional after the repeal last year of its requirement that people have health insurance or pay a fine.
Led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel, the lawsuit said that without the individual mandate, which was eliminated as part of the Republican tax law signed by President Donald Trump in December, Obamacare was unlawful.
"The U.S. Supreme Court already admitted that an individual mandate without a tax penalty is unconstitutional," Paxton said in a statement. "With no remaining legitimate basis for the law, it is time that Americans are finally free from the stranglehold of Obamacare, once and for all," he said.

Congress should have repealed it by now.
But maybe this will give them a little more incentive.
That’s fantastic. Time for the Republicans to do what they promised.
I am all for any effort to repeal this monstrosity. At this point, especially with the mandate gone, I think the best approach is to develop the right approach and leave original Obamacare plans in place. Release the miriad of regulations and let the free market develop better solutions at lower prices. Obamacare will essentially die on the vine with its bloated expensive plans.
Repeal the law and send McCain a copy to be buried with him, complements of POTUS Trump.
Take it up with Traitor Roberts, along with DACA.
Whatta legacy he has created....
Great!!
If you remember, Chief Justice Roberts upheld O’Care because it was a tax. At the time, court watchers identified the fact that he might have left the back door open for a challenge if the tax part of it were amended.
Now here we are.
Put McCain in a sh!tty Medicaid nursing home.
Oh wait, he’s a Senator - I crack myself up.
Utah is one of the states? Cannot wait for the Romney perspective on this.
Interesting argument. Hope it works.
It wasn’t constitutional in the first place.
I’m probably one of the few that actually benefited greatly from Obamacare. But, over time it did morph into something truly hideous. I would rather have stayed crutch-bound than to have doomed the entire nation to what it has already evolved into.
Jeff Sessions will probably wake up from his long nap and probably tirelessly defend Obamascare.
Don't jinx it.
[It wasnt constitutional in the first place.]
Hey! Just like Barack Hussein Obama himself!!!
“Im probably one of the few that actually benefited greatly from Obamacare.”
I seriously doubt it. I am sure there could have been something that you attribute to Obamacare, but I am sure you would have been taken care of some other way..
One can't help but suspect that the likes of John Roberts and John McCain among other traitors to their voting fodder are doing exactly what they promised their puppet masters.
I wonder, if it’s totally repealed, if my company will offer to put our working spouses back on our health insurance plan. Cause it’s been costing us $200 extra per month since that option was taken away.
Not sure I track it. Did the tax law eliminate the mandate, or eliminate the fine but leave the mandate? If the latter, then the argument makes sense.
