The Broward County Sheriff’s Office has released the booking report on the arrest of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz.

Oh... so the Uber car was gold. Got it. I thought he had driven himself in a gold car.
But it’s the “NRA that’s in hot water” according to Fox News.
It would take at least four years to get to the bottom of this.
A Campus Monitor recognized Cruz. What is a campus monitor?
The Deputy? If it was him, why didn’t the report refer to the campus if it was the resource officer?
Is this monitor like a lunchroom monitor or something similar?
The "monitor" said that he called in the code Red.
The Deputy called in the shooter's description.
The Deputy said he did not "encounter the shooter" which is technically true as when he encountered him Cruz was a shooter to be.
And SRO are often called monitors.
Which is about as silly as calling them "School Resource Officers". Makes them sound like they hand out pens and paper.
This investigation needs to be taken from the BCSO and turned over to Pam Bondi, the State Attorney General to manage. ALL if these deaths were preventable, even at the moment Cruz arrived at the school. Even the Uber driver appears to be brain dead. The parents who lost their children need to see a full and accurate accounting of what happened and every monumental f*ck up needs to be completely exposed, especially the School District and the School Board. Because it all started with them and their inane anti-discipline policies.
This is unbelievable. He saw him get dropped off in a car, knew who he was, knew he was prohibited from bringing any bag into the school, knew he had been expelled from the school, saw him carrying a duffel bag with purpose towards the school and didn’t confront him!?
He could have confronted him there before he had a chance to get the gun out of the bag with little danger to himself. It was what he was there to do.

Watch for disturbances, fights, unauthorized visitors or any criminal activity in the school.

Oversee pick up and drop off procedures.
Run detention.
Oversee afterschool and extracurricular activities.
Monitor and supervise community events.
Maintain visitor/building log accurately and assist visitors to school buildings using the appropriate procedures.
Monitor hallways and open areas during passing time.
Monitor cafeteria during student lunch time.
Successfully participate in the training programs offered to increase the individual’s skill and proficiency related to the assignment.
Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
Monitor electronic school security system.
Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by school administrators.
Follow federal and state laws as well as School Board policies.
OTHER SPECIAL SKILLS:
Ability to recognize potentially unsafe or out of the ordinary situations while providing security to the facility.

...Sounds like a description of the SRO’s job to me. That’s no student hall monitor type.

Not a SRO position. Here’s the job requirements. No LEO is required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma
Proven experience ensuring school rules and regulations to children
3+ years similar experience
Proven experience relating with students
He FAILED
Proper response would have been to call in it, get additional units en route all while going to confront him.
