A Boston-based home security company co-founded by the chief financial officer of Boston Public Schools has cut its ties to the National Rifle Association amid fierce pushback among parents and gun control activists.

I have been a loyal Simplisafe customer for the last year and a half. Guess it’s time to call them up and cancel. Hard to do because I do like their product. The article comments are worth noting for their obvious hatred of the NRA.
And here I was about to buy one of their systems. Oh well, another one bites the dust.
“Home security systems”. Oh, I see. Gun ownership is their competition. Follow the money.
In order to be consistent, SimpliSafe needs to stop advertising on Rush & Hannity since its clear Rush & Sean side with the NRA.
Wonder if either Hannity or Rush will address this on their programs? I kind of doubt it.
I was also considering a system this summer when my wired system contract expires. Another savings...WOOT!
Agree that it is not likely either will comment but I might be wrong about that. It probably depends on how the company proceeds.
I was just fixing to get their system, oh well....
What a stupid uncalled-for insulting thing for anyone to do. And especially a security- industry firm that serves largely NRA supporters and members. You can bet theyll lose a ton of business now, especially new business that will easily and happily go elsewhere. WTH is wrong with these people, anyway? Mentally defectives, irrational just plain dumb. They help nobody while hurting themselves
OK, in true FReeper fashion, I have now read the entire article and it appears that the husband & wife owners of SimpliSafe were getting their bread buttered on both sides as the wife was also an employee of Boston Public Schools while being the CFO of the security company. Of course this MO is de rigeur for most of the NE liberal cognoscenti as they never expect to be found out for such conduct.
As I pointed out in another post, watching how this unfolds as regards advertising on multiple conservative radio programs will be interesting. The most interesting part is seeing who fills that airtime advertising void as it’s usually a direct competitor yet nothing is said directly by the host. There is the occasional blurb in the advertising trade rags, like Advertising Age.
Same here. We got broken into at our old house and the Simpli Safe system preformed perfectly. The alarm scared the dirtbag off, Simpli Safe called the police.
I had just gone for a walk and was greeted by an officer when I got home.
Maybe if we apply enough pressure, theyll reconsider.
Maybe Santa Claus will be coming down the chimney this Christmas.
Or Shoot Us an Email.
I wonder if they'll change their wording?
Just sent them an email stating my displeasure. Told them I am the owner of two of their systems and as soon as I find a suitable replacement they will be history. Also mentioned that the majority of their advertising is on conservative talk radio. They may have bitten the hand that feeds them.

I “shot” them a rather long email so I’ll let you have the fun. The more individual complaints they get, the better.
Mine was as follows, complete with an unfinished phrase despite triple-checking:
I should say that I was interested but have just read that you are boycotting the NRA. Since the NRA does not promote murder but does promote gun-training and gun-safety, I’ve decided that our weapons will have to do the job your security system cannot do anyway, which is to stop bad guys from hurting us before the deputies can get here.
After all, the Parkland tragedy proved that even trained and armed deputies aren’t particularly willing to use their guns to save young people’s lives, at least not in Broward County. Of course, my county has a different mindset than Broward, and I suspect our deputies would be less reluctant to do their job.
If you change your mind about blaming the NRA for what a mentally deranged man and a school administration that was hiding criminal activity in their schools, I might reconsider.
Thank you for your time,
When seconds matter the Parkland Cops are cowering in fear for minutes and the security cameras in the school are on a time delay...
Governments failed.
Not the N.R.A.
I was thinking to boycott the government. That probably wouldn’t last long though once I started getting those nasty late notices from the IRS.
I don't get the conflict. How does protecting the kids' homes from burglars while they're in school conflict with keeping the kids safe while they're in school? Your logic befuddles me.
That is, unless you're a tool of the MSM and the liberal establishment.
