“With stunning poise and steely confidence, Cameron Kasky”

The confidence came from being handed a script which was well rehearsed.

No way that kid originated those words and phrases.

Ah, the left insulting large percentages of the country again. Remember, this is how the left thinks of you: you are the problem.

THEY WANT TO TAKE OUR GUNS AWAY BECAUSE THEY SCREWED UP!

This tragedy is a dark comedy of law enforcement dropping the ball at multiple levels from the FBI to the local sheriff.

A total and disasterous failure of Law Enforcement from top to bottom led to the slaughter of 17 people.
Competent, professional law enforcement is more than setting up Trump associates with "Gotcha" questions and ticketing speeders.

FBI: No follow up on multiple tips of a potential shooter (too busy sexting and manufacturing false evidence to screw the president?)

Local Law Enforcement: No response to multiple tips of crinminal behavior at the school

Local Sheriff: Watching the disaster unfold on a link to school security cameras with a 20 MINUTE DELAY!
(Why wasn't this flaw discovered beforehand through planning and practice to prepare for a possible live shooter event?)

School Administration: Political Correctness took prededence over student safety

School Security Officer - Armed but too cowardly to confront the shooter

It's obvious that all parties had their priorities screwed up and were concentrationg on other issues rather than their primary mission.

Competent, professional management at the FBI, Sheriff Department, local police and school administration
along with prior planning and preparation would probably have saved many lives.

In other words, the Chicago Tribune is simply a part of the statist propaganda machine.

Eric Zorn

Eric Zorn (born January 6, 1958) is a liberal/progressive op-ed columnist and daily blogger for the Chicago Tribune, providing a left-of-center perspective on local news and local (e.g., Chicago and Cook County, state (e.g., Illinois), and national politics.

Hmmm, okay so then it's fair to say that it's not the democrat party that's the problem, it's democrat voters? No that's apple to oranges, neither the NRA or NRA voters are the problem while both the democrat party and democrat voters are the problem.

It’s not NRA money that’s the problem, it’s NRA voters (barf alert)

The liberal gun-grabbers and the democRAS will use these kids until they squeeze every drop of sympathy from the public they can and they they will discard them.

These kids will be in for a shock when they realize they've been played by the democRATS just to advance their agenda.

democRATS don't care about school children and their safety. It they did, they would have done something by now. They've been in power 8 years.

Instead, they fall back on their same old games of blaming the Republicans for killing kids and being in bed with the NRA.

That's because they have nothing else. Nothing.

I agree with the article... NRA gets all it’s “power” from the voters who support them. The writer seems to desire some kind of “final solution to the NRA voters question”. I’m sure condemn, hate and despise is a winning election strategy for 2018. DemWits do more please!

Hey, Eric Zorn - there's a reason we don't let 7-year-olds vote. It has a lot to do with the formation of judgement and reasoning. The portion of the brain that facilitates judgement is not mature in most people until the age of 25. These kids have been traumatized, and while it may be polite to listen and give them time to vent their fears and frustrations - we are talking about fundamental Constitutional Rights here. Children/teens do not understand that. They have an emotional reaction to what they have seen, what they were forced to be part of.

The founding fathers designed the Constitution and its amending procedures in such a way to avoid the integration of intense passions that are stirred by events like this. You wouldn't want the 1st, 4th, 5th or 6th Amendments to be infringed upon or modified by the passion of the moment, what's special about the 2nd in that regard?

What you see in teenagers in this situation is understandable, forgivable. They are not fully developed, fully functioning, entirely responsible people yet.

What you see in the adults who are managing this “movement” from behind the scenes is really despicable. They translate emotion into policy and legislation and even constitutional amendments. God save us from people like this.

As a typical move by the libtard progressives, always resort to demonizing.

And as evident, all of us know, the real goal of the libtard progressives was to remove the 2nd Amendment...
