One week after a mass shooter Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 people inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, Broward's top cop on Thursday revealed a stunning series of failures by the sheriffs department.
A school campus cop heard the gunfire, rushed to the building but never went inside instead waiting outside for another four agonizing minutes as Cruz continued the slaughter.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of people in this world without that kind of conscience. He didn't go in to try to save lives. That alone should tell you what kind of conscience he has. Compare and contrast different actions by two men there that day. The coach didn't have any weapons but threw his body between the kids and the killer, and gave his life in doing so. The armed cop did nothing.
Exactly. Sen. Blumenthal has vowed to fight Trump’s efforts to allow teachers to arm themselves. What other reason could he have for opposing the ONE thing that everyone knows will work.
Hopefully his Gov. issued firearm was pulled. Because the honorable thing to do is swallow it. (Family not withstanding)
I have a gun AND a uniform - I’m wading right in...
Well, he gets to collect his pension, though....
3 questions.
1. Did he have a gun.
2. Did he have ammo for the gun.
3. Was he authorized to use his gun with bullets if something went down, or did he have to get permission to fire at a perp/perps.
Like the coach that ran towards the shooting and died trying to protect “his” kids. (I’m not sure if he saved them or not).
The Lefties are just DEMANDING that we kick their lying teeth in.
Their flowchart consists of one line: "Give Up Your Guns, Peasants"
“Might teachers with guns, who personally know the kids under attack, react more successfully?”
Maybe not when the shooting is down the hall. Face to Face how could you not when it is kill or be killed?
I think Mara was snidely repeating the formula “a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun” to show all of us rubes that it doesn’t always work that way - for sure being a good guy requires that one follow through on the implied promise one made in taking up the gun that it would be used when needed to take out the bad guy......
“Well, for his fear of dying one death he must now die every day for as long as he shall live. God help him.”
$12 bucks an hour....
“How can we know what this one was up against when he made his decision?”
His duty and job was to protect the students. What more does one need to know?
Please don’t encourage kids to bring their own guns to school. We should be urging and supporting parents to get their kids out of the State run institutions to save not just their lives, but their souls as well.
Yes it does. Shooters like Cruz only sees himself shooting and does not factor in that someone may be shooting back. After all it is a gun free zone right?
It’s hard to be a good cop now days.
“I remember getting very rudimentary active shooter training when I was a cop.”
You got training in killing the enemy when you were a Marine, didn’t you?
Sheep run away from the sound of gunfire. Sheepdogs run toward it.
Peeps are ultimately responsible for their own safety.
Remember that in the 50s/60s the High Schools student parking lots were filled with trucks with populated gun racks.
I had a friend who had an handgun under the seat of his VW bug in the lot (and a German water cooled machine gun under his bed at home).
Respectfully, next time you’re at a high power competition try saying that in front of the range safety officer and see how he responds to it.

These kids today are nothing like the high schoolers 60, 40, or even 30 years ago. Some of them have been medicated their whole lives and are the products of single motherhood. Many are still in high school when they’re 20.
