To: Buffalo Head

My experience in Vietnam combat was that it is almost impossible to predict how people will react when the going gets tough. The macho guys quite frequently were the first to break down. The hero’s typically were the least expected.


We owe you and your brothers in arms a great debt for your courage and tenacity in fighting a bloody war that cost over half the casualties relative to the losses incurred in fighting the Japanese, and yet is thought of as a sideshow compared to the Pacific campaigns of WWII.
