It's the effort to demonize guns being conducted in schools. How can you demonize that which is protecting you?
I think Pres. Trump is going to change that.

Trump is freakin brilliant! This will engender support for the idea among a lot of teachers, and it will probably save us far more than it costs financially as well. (In prevented death and suffering.)

The media and the left are immediately going to pretend that Trump wants to arm ALL teachers, and condemn that idea with editorials, cartoons, and idiots milling in the streets.

Well, some people don’t like it but the tax code has forever been used to incentivize desired behavior, so instead of giving people a tax credit for solar power or buying a rice-burning car, why not reward teachers to buy a gun and obtain CCW training? Say a tax credit of 200% of the purchase price of the gun and training?
Trump can’t control idiot school boards but he can control this. And even if the schools ban guns inside their buildings like some of them idiotically will do, having one in the car might enable some kind of intervention if an attack occurs.
Congress, President, ATF, SC can make it a federal issue any time they want.

Perhaps they could be sworn in as reserve deputy sheriffs, and attend a training class over the summer.
A tax credit is the same as paying someone. We aren’t supposed to have a nationalized domestic police force and this would be an unfortunate step toward that.
What Trump needs to do is to get his CIA/FBI house in order so they aren’t executing false flags in our schools.
And yes—let the locals address their individual school security.
If students are forbidden from going to school then there won’t be school massacres. The secondary benefit is that students won’t be subject to communist/socialist teachings.
Or you arm the teachers and hold them responsible for the students’ safety.

They should volunteer if they really care. Give them a bonus if they drill a nut job.
Pushing the schools to consider it is fine - if a number of them opt in, then the fact that no successful shoots happen in those schools but stick to the “gun-free” schools will add impetus...
