Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner (R) cares about diversity. In fact, he cares about it so much that he drank your moms favorite chocolate milk concoction at a corporate event honoring Black History Month.
The supposed-metaphor happened after Hyatt Hotels vice president and global chief diversity officer Tyronne Stoudemire presented a bottle of Hersheys chocolate syrup and said that it represents diversity through women, people of color, people with disabilities, the aging population, and generation X, Y, and Z. Standing on stage right next to him, Gov. Rauner held a glass of milk as Stoudemire poured chocolate syrup right into it.
Its not that organizations are not diverse, but when you look at most organizations, diversity sits, what? At the bottom of the organization, Stoudemire said, CBS reports. You dont get inclusion until you stir it up. I want you to stir it up, governor. Stir it up.
Gov. Rauner went on to do just that, offering to drink the chocolate milk live on stage.
Youll drink it? Youll be proud to, Stoudemire quipped, after which Gov. Rauner took a sizable gulp, gave a thumbs up, and unsolicitedly shouted, Its really, really good
Diversity!
Diabetes.... Blacks... me... whatever... idiot.

2017 top draft pick (11th overall) Jack Bulger (3b) has a boo boo/ouchie on his Achilles tendon.
Can you imagine the inspirational speech!?
“So now - I want to talk to you about diversity! Diversity is good. Here's some chocolate syrup - pour it into this glass - and what you got? Chocolate syrup - stuck in the bottom of a glass. Oh - I mean you can get at it with one of those long spoons - or dip your straw in it and suck the bottom of the straw. But, well....
You ever try to clean a glass with that goop stuck at the bottom? Takes a lot of hot water and soap just to get it half-ways clean!
Now then - here we add this white milk. That syrup don't care for it though much, and still just is all gooped up on the bottom. But take that long spoon and mix it up enough - hmmmmmm - now you have one nice cold tall glass of chocolate milk.
That's diversity folks - everybody working together - bringing the best out of everybody. Now, nobody said it would be easy.”
Of course the fictional account above is racist. But no more racist than the actual event.
The ONE thing that I thought would be good about obama as president would be that racial reconciliation would have been further advanced. Silly me - we knew about is association with that “the chickens come home to roost” preacher. obama set us back 30 years I bet.
