...We Are Here For An Education And Not A Political Protest
We are here for an education and not a political protest. Thats is the message from Needville ISD Superintendent Curtis Rhodes Tuesday in response to a call by political groups for students to walk out of class to protest gun issues in the wake of the Florida school shooting.
In a post on Facebook, Rhodes said, A school is a place to learn and grow educationally, emotionally and morally. A disruption will not be tolerated.
[snip]Addressing the planned possible protests directly Rhodes said, There is a movement attempting to stage walkouts/disruptions of the school through social media and/or other media outlets. Please be advised that the Needville ISD will not allow a student demonstration during school hours for any type of protest or awareness!!
Rhodes said that regardless of how many kids participate nobody will escape discipline no matter if it is one, 50, or 500 students involved.

Soros and his paid politicians take heed.....your interference will not be tolerated
Students, your moment of fame is over....you have been used for political purposes....you have been duped by those that are trying to remove our Second Amendment to the US Constitution....
Be proud of your Constitution and Protect it...there are many who want it gone and they have used you to further that end.
I applaud this. He showed restraint but firm.
Good for them! Adults in charge who don’t let the kids run the show. About time.
This seems to be his email address. I am going to drop him a line or two of support.
I agree, time to put the run away train of imbeciles dictating ideals back in the station.
They get ZERO in my class and unexcuse if they don’t bring a note from george soros.
A glimmer of sanity in the education system? I’m gonna buy a lottery ticket!
It’s the right idea, but I bet they fold under pressure.
Sanity??? I’m floored.
The kids should be protesting that they are left as sitting ducks in a so-called gun free zone.
Schools should have shooters ready to protect and defend.
What is your name?
What is my name?
What school are you in?
Each question answered correctly was worth 20 points and there were 10 questions. It would make a big difference on the six week grade.
The school said I had to offer a make up test so I took a regular test from my test bank which included engineering and physics math and at least three timed essay questions. The truants took this while their peers that stayed had a lab day.
They had their say and I followed the district rules and they or their parents couldn't do nuffin' about it.
I like your idea of having tests during walkouts. As for the main stream media coverage, I noticed that they haven’t shown anyone against the walkouts but when they covered the Tea Party during the early days of the Obama administration, they did show people against the tea party.
I haven’t seen what discipline he has in mind but suspending a kid for skipping school by kicking them out of school has never made any since to me.
Good!
Thank you very much for posting the e-address for Mr. Rhodes. I have sent an e-mail and I hope many will.
Good.
When I was in high school our teachers walked out over pay. Most of the student body joined them on the picket lines, but not one of them could have told you what the flap was about. They just wanted out of class.
When we were in elementary school, our teachers walked out for almost a month......it was awesome!
Finally someone that has the balls to tell these little SJW twits NO and mean it.
I hope when the Baby Mamas come whining to him when it’s time to dish out the just rewards he tells them the same thing...NO.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Minneapolis is out marching with the miscreants skipping school there.
Good for Mr. Curtis Rhodes! Every school district should do this.
