In 2018, Republicans rail at Barack Obama and Democrats refuse to call Donald Trump "their president," but many of the worst presidents in American history have been largely forgotten.
A recent YouGov survey found most Americans ranked Trump the worst president (40 percent), followed by Obama (27 percent). Perhaps unsurprisingly, 71 percent of Democrats said Trump was the worst (6 percent of Republicans agreed). Similarly, 57 percent of Republicans chose Obama as the worst president (2 percent of Democrats agreed).
This myopia proved astonishing because even the infamous Richard Nixon paled in comparison to Trump and Obama. Ironically, more Republicans (7 percent) chose Nixon as the worst president than Democrats (6 percent). Tragically, no president before Richard Nixon (1969-1974) received enough downvotes to be mentioned in the results.
While today's Democrats and Republicans are well-acquainted with the scandals of Trump and Obama respectively, they may know less about James Buchanan or Franklin Pierce. Trump and Obama are arguably too fresh for historians to develop an accurate view of their presidencies, but many lesser-known presidents (and one or two revered presidents) deserve to go down in infamy.

Lyndon Johnson, the President we still have not recovered from. An absolute disaster who started us down the road to ruin that we still are on.
Wilson and LBJ. Ugh!
>> I cant imagine how carter didnt make the list.
I can’t imagine how Lincoln didn’t make the list.
Daddy Bush started the globalist Free Traitor nightmare. He is not the worst but one of the worst Presidents.
Lincoln was the butcher. He was the worst. No one comes close.
How about Harrison and the billion dollar congress? What precedent they set
I would say Buchanan was the worst, followed by Wilson, Carter and Lyndon Johnson
Bush 1? He gave us the assault rifle ban, stopped the import of Norinco rifles, raised taxes after telling us to read his lips, smuggled cocaine into Mena Arkansas and helped launch the career of Bill Clinton. And was likely in the periphery of the JFK assassination.
Another is Fillmore...got to see why he is the worst...
Now that's what I call "Term Limits".
Details in Jim Powell's 2005 book, Wilson's War: How Woodrow Wilson's Great Blunder Led to Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, and World War II.
I like your group. I would add Jefferson, Pierce, Buchanon and Andrew Johnson to that.
I would like to forget about the usurper, but his minions won’t let us. As for the worst president, that’s still Buchanan - the recent communist occupant of our White House was ineligible, so he doesn’t count.
Best presidents? Washington and Reagan would be at or near the top.
Among other things a profoundly racist individual. Segregated the military.
Yes he did.
Our military was on its way to becoming an integrated entity and Woodrow Wilson put a stop to it. He also re-segregated the civilian federal work force, closing off certain jobs and positions to blacks just as they were beginning to make in-roads towards being treated equally.
Things were by no means rosy and wonderful at that time for blacks, but Mr. Wilson not only did nothing to move things forward, he actively moved us several steps backwards.
I have long considered Woodrow Wilson the most racist post-Civil War president of the United States - although LBJ gave him a run for his money as did Barack Obama most recently.
