In a twisted way, I think the Liberals are consistent.
On many topics, you can either blame a "thing" or a "person". Liberals don't like to blame People because Liberals don't like personal responsibility. For them, everyone is inherently perfect and good until someone else comes along and messes things up -- "society" or "the church" or "the patriarchy" and then some poor little person becomes "a victim" and they do bad things (but it's not really their fault).
Given that approach, Liberals oppose guns and they oppose drugs (maybe). But identifying crazy people as a problem, or identifying illegal immigrants with ties to drug cartels as a problem is just "mean" according to Liberals.
The opioid crisis is a domestic issue involving big pharma. This is a war against legal domestic drug producers and legal pushers.
Just like the Pharma companies aren’t involved. It’s a tidy system. We should treat it like we treated the Crack Epidemic. You either die or go to prison. Can’t figure out why we abandoned that model.
Opioid problem matches exactly with USA involvement in Afghanistan.

Lets not forget that the Fen is coming in from China via USPS and shipping. Which they lace the Mex and M.E. Cocaine/Heroin with. I’ve heard of cases they spray it on Weed when they water. And the China crap is more potent than the US FDA Approved stuff stolen or fraud scripted. Nor do I buy the addicts are injuring dogs for pain meds. I’ve paid enough Vet bills to know that they are by weight and 5 days at most and VERY expensive. A injury visit is $300 and up, Vets are quicker to report suspected animal abuse than Dr’s are child abuse. Even my 12 lb Morkie who takes a allergy med, that med is $60 a month. My Claritin is not that expensive.
Sure, there are no gangs bringing drugs over the border.
I think you will find that Fentanyl is coming from Mexico, and it appears to be the killer drug of choice now.

Nice summary but it is missing something very important that even I have only know come to realize.
These Mexican drug cartels own politicians in southern states or any place they are active. They may very well control media outlets.
If I’m right, we need to wage a cross border military campaign. Look at Vicente Fox. He’s clearly part of the Cartel.

Our government as well as the Mexican government has been in bed with the Cartel’s since the CIA created them.
We are going to sort out nothing so long as our positions are built on the shifting sands of hypocrisy and so long as we don't get our own house in order.
This is just another example of falling for the false dichotomy of the left face and right face of the deep state. It's the deep state against the constitutional republic.
How they get hooked through legal prescriptions is the more important one.
I agree, but that is a question for Doctors to have that conversation with their patients about.
in 1979 My Doctors TOLD ME they were going to get me hooked on opiods and that when the surgery was done I would go through withdrawls in the Hospital.
I took as much Percodan as I could eat for 3 months, 4000 mg every hour at the end. fully addicted, but the choice was going in to Shock and passing out, or staying on the drugs. The day of my surgery I no longer needed the drugs.
