Many good points in this article, but, this one gets to the heart of the whole mess so that the average American can grasp the need for a special prosecutor:

"In summary, the highest levels of the FBI and the Justice Department were working with the DNC and the Hillary campaign to dig up dirt on Trump in order to destroy his candidacy and later, his presidency." BAM!!

Maybe not Mr. Bolton, but, someone of unquestioned character and integrity needs to look into what we now know and prosecute those who broke the law.

I can only hope that the idea proposed by the author is causing a lot of folks to lay awake at night wondering when the "knock" will come on their door.

I know this sounds strange but Allen Dershowits might not be a bad pick.

Lots of good names on this thread; none of them would be bad!

Fusion GPS, then, paid a Trump-hating former British agent named Christopher Steele to produce 16 memos between June and November 2016 supposedly based on hearsay from Russian agents.

While I lke Bolton as a TV talking head, he would be a fox guarding the hen house as a prosecutor.

The author if this piece is a lunatic. John Bolton is a big-government globalist who would use his appointment as special counsel to find hostile Russians behind every story in the news.

What they need is a tough and agency-savvy prosecutor who is a loyalist to Trump who hasn’t been out in the press as a lightning rod for Trump or the right more generally.

I don’t think so. John’s a smart guy, but criminal prosecution is not his forte. Not everyone can do it right, unless they have spent hundreds of hours in the courtroom.

How about picking someone without a record of abysmal judgment?

Bolton and those of his type are the ones responsible for our friends coming back from overseas in pieces. Love to get that guy in a locked room full of PTSD vets to explain his behavior.

DiGenovs has the experiece and his views are known. Paul Clement has a great track record. Ted Olsen knows the ropes.

Bolton’s good, but Trump doesn’t like his mustache.

For entertainment value, just to see heads explode: Ann Coulter.

Jeanine Pirro has a good history as a prosecutor. So does Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Seriously... NOT Dershowitz. He loves Hillary. In spite of all the crimes he absolutely knows she’s committed, he LOVES Hillary. Also there’s the fact that he’s connected to Lolita Express and Epstein. He’s been right on issues this year, but he’s almost 80 years old. I’d prefer someone who has a better track record than 1/80.

"Maybe not Mr. Bolton, but, someone of unquestioned character and integrity needs to look into what we now know and prosecute those who broke the law."

I don't think it would make a heck of a lot of difference... I think the Clinton's have a blackmail file on every politician that walks, crawls or slithers across this planet...

How about Mukasey Giuliani are Bolton I think any of these would be fair and do a good job. The problem is Beta Session will not appoint one because Alpha Rosentein tells him not to. Rosentein/Mueller will keep the investigation going until trump is out of office. There would be a good chance the day after Mueller closes his investigation Trump would most likley replace both Rosentein and Sessions.

“Americans used to be so proud of the FBI. It was the best police agency in the world. Whereas the national police in most countries can be bought for a reasonable price, the FBI was always incorruptible, a bulwark of integrity.”

I have never known that to be true.

I would question the intellect of anyone who did.
