BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syrian Kurdish forces and a monitoring group said the Turkish military carried out a suspected gas attack that wounded six people in Syria’s Afrin region on Friday.

There was no immediate comment from the Turkish military, which has previously denied accusations of hitting civilians in its Afrin operation.

Birusk Hasaka, a spokesman for the Kurdish YPG militia in Afrin, told Reuters that Turkish bombardment hit a village in the northwest of the region, near the Turkish border. He said it caused six people to suffer breathing problems and other symptoms indicative of a gas attack.

If Bill Clinton was still in charge, not a camel or tent would be safe!

Sounds like tear gas. I’m inclined to side with the Kurds, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they concocted a few fairy tales to get Uncle Sam to jump in with both feet on their behalf.

No doubt Kerry, Hillary, McCain, Lindsey, McMuffin and their media friends will soon say that Assad did it.

"...Turkish military carried out a suspected gas attack..."

I think we know what the Turks have and don't have - as a "NATO" member, I do not think they have chemical weapons in their inventory.
Not that that would be below them, it's just that we would know.

Tillrson threw Kurds under the Turkish bus today. So this won’t get any airplay on CNN or Faux News.

I wouldn't trust Erdogan and the rest of his muslims as far as I could throw Rosie ODonnel's fat ass. And I don't doubt that he has some very nasty stuff stockpiled. Erdogan is no friend of freedom or the western world.

Pat Buchanan:

Turkey also sits astride the Dardanelles entrance to the Black Sea. NATO’s loss of Turkey would thus be a triumph for Vladimir Putin, who gave Ankara the green light to cleanse the Kurds from Afrin.

What happened today with Tillerson and the Kurds today, must have missed the news.

"Erdogan is no friend of freedom or the western world."

Agree 100% - all I was saying is that our military knows exactly what the Turks have. If they've got chemical weapons squirrelled away somewhere, we would know.

If Russia attacked the Turks from the rear, do you think Greece would help?

This is not the first such incident. They suspected Chlorine gas the prior times. And Syrian government has been accused of many attacks with chemical weapons.

It is altogether possible it happened. Turkey employees the FSA which includes stragglers from ISIS and some units of al Qaeda (Nusra).

It is possible that the Kurds could fake it? I doubt it. I know they want U.S. to step in and remove this threat. But I find their stats of war totally credible and all others are really out there. Turkey clams killing a thousand Kurds. The actual deaths were reported recently by the SDF as 98 of YPG/YPJ (on Feb 12). Syrian civilian dead were at 168 on same day. So almost 2X the Syrian civilian deaths as those killed in battle.

Kurds claimed on Feb 12 that there had been 862 FSA (Jihadi’s) and Turk soldiers killed.

The Turks employ the FSA, some ISIS stragglers and al Qaeda (Nusra). All of those have been previously accused of using poison gas. I've seen pictures of poison gas agents and chemicals that were captured by the SDF.

The Syrian SDF (YPG/YPJ) have been inflicting heavy casualties on the FSA. They did that earlier fighting them in the Area that US troops are placed farther to the East. Those heavy losses may make the FSA want to kill Kurds at any cost, with any weapon.

I have great respect for and confidence in our military, however I will just reply with what we knew before "There are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq", because they were moved to Syria.

I don't want to argue with you, I am one that believes all those planes and trucks moving from Iraq to Syria before the war were carrying something other than groceries and trade goods.

Hey it's Saturday! Have a great weekend!
