Moments ago FISA Court Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer responded to the requests from the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte. (full pdfs below #1 and #2)
There are nuances in each response specific to the statutory roles of each Chairman and the specific requests made by each committee. Reflected in Judge Collyers responses is a need for careful consideration of each unique request.
♦House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes holds primary oversight authority over the aggregate Intelligence Community (IC). Chairman Nunes has requested the transcripts from the FISA Court during the DOJ/FBI Title-1 surveillance application over their target, U.S. person Carter Page.
♦House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte holds primary oversight authority over the Department of Justice -including the FISA court- and has requested the actual FISA Title-1 application as submitted by the DOJ/FBI for surveillance of Carter Page.
Judge Collyer responds to both legislative branch chairman from the position of never previously receiving such requests. There are separation of power challenges, but also an understanding inherent in the response to Chairman Goodlatte of the unique statutory oversight his committee holds.

An interesting passage from SCOTUS
Faretta v. California, 422 U.S. 806 (1975)
“In the long history of British criminal jurisprudence, there was only one tribunal that ever adopted a practice of forcing counsel upon an unwilling defendant in a criminal proceeding. The tribunal was the Star Chamber. That curious institution, which flourished in the late 16th and early 17th centuries, was of mixed executive and judicial character, and characteristically departed from common-law traditions. For those reasons, and because it specialized in trying “political” offenses, the Star Chamber has for centuries symbolized disregard of basic individual rights.”

Hey judge, Congress represents us, the PEOPLE. Give Congress what WE asked for.
Then resign.
Yep....I bet it has been changed.
Do we live in a communist country or 3rd world banana republic?
Lately, yes
What “separation of power” challenges?
Do they mean like black-robed tyrants telling Trump what he may or may not do regarding the military or foreign policy?
It's pretty clear Obama and/or Clinton has something over Roberts based on his weird behavior in arriving at his ObamaCare decision.
Roberts is in charge of appointing judges to the FISA court. Obama complained that Roberts has been appointing too many GOP judges, and suddenly there is a change and he starts appointing Obama cronies.
In particular, there is suddenly a very pliant judge in place to take the previously rejected warrant request to spy on Trump and re-process it favorably.
In my opinion, Roberts is still succumbing to extortion and cannot be trusted in this or any matter involving the Clintons or Obama. Don't expect him to ride to the rescue.
Secret courts without oversight.
This must be fixed.
This heralds that the Judge was in on the FIX
and that the entire FISA court is responsible
for the SEDITION.
En banc Sedition means an electric bench is needed.
I’m sure it pales in comparison to the “in action” tapes they are blackmailing him with.
if the court wont present the info congress should defund and eliminate it no oversight no court simple
They way things are running today, freedom for most of us means flying beneath the radar and not presenting any ‘nuisance’, inconvenience, or threat to the overlord government. As long as you remain a little person in anonymity you have nominal ‘freedom’. As soon as you pop your head up and present a challenge to those who really hold the power and who define our ‘freedom’, you will get pounded down.
Hey judge, just suppose the DOJ and FBI are corrupt? Then what?

That the information is classified is not the issue. The relevant committees have the requisite clearances.
I lay a lot of this opposition to the news media and of course the democratic party.
It used to be that members of Congress were members before anything else.
Then the news started going after Republican members by always citing their party, especially if the member had been accused or identified as something salacious or criminal. So we got stories like, “Nunes, the REPUBLICAN Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee” rather than just “Nunes, the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee”.
The media NEVER identifies someone as a democrat when they want to push the narrative against someone. NEVER.
So Judge Collyer can write this off as a partisan witch hunt because “Devin Nunes, the REPUBLICAN chairman of the House Intelligence Committee” demanded it.
The country will never recover from this unless we get the media to drop its bias and stop with all the fake news.
But they are shameless in their ends justifies the means news coverage. The most important role of the journalist in today’s liberal media is NOT to inform the public about what happened, but rather push the narrative that Conservatism is evil and Leftists are good.
“Who, what, when, where and how” are no longer taught in modern journalism. Promoting the NARRATIVE is the new purpose.
Straight out of the Communist Manifesto.

Well, the Congress could -abolish- that court in an hour and impeach the judge. Since they have THAT power, it stands to reason they should have access to review her work without a separation of powers issue.

This board has gone to shit.
15 posts before the CORRECT answer, and the gist of the immediate reply (should be), was ‘penned’.
Shame, the standard around here seems to now be, “Let’s debate from NOW now” and skip the root of the problem (most likely, illegal/uncon. govt largess).
EG: School shooting? More cops/military/metal detectors. Nary ‘bout demolishing the property taxes, DoEd and their indoctrination centers & parents/guardians pay for the ed’ of their own brood (private biz wouldn’t put up w/ ‘bad behavior’\threatening kids/teachers, etc.)
