How many health issues did we have on a regular basis before processed and gmo foods. Many older freepers will look at todays youth and wonder what happened.

It’s True! Now eating process food every now and then on a limited, almost temporary use, isn’t going to kill anyone but then again most people don’t know what ‘every now and then’ means and eat and drink massive amounts of this stuff as a daily consumption not once or twice but up to 5 to 6 times a day, even more and don’t think about it

Many older freepers died before they could get cancer.
Cancer rates have climbed because people live longer.
I wonder if processed food leads to mental problems.

Life expectancy for US men increased almost 5 years in the last 50 years. It increased even more for women.

I blame processed food and GMOs for that.

People have been eating processed foods for thousands of years. A good chunk of the processing was necessary to preserve food for the fallow winter months.

People used to have fewer chronic health issues because they died early of infectious disease - polio, TB, malaria, etc. A good chunk of our problems comes from living longer, such that the breakdown of our bodies due to aging has a chance to manifest itself. Another slice comes from eating too much food. The weight of the average American male has gone up 30 lbs since the 1960’s. That’s almost 20%. https://www.livescience.com/49-decade-study-americans-taller-fatter.html

I know what happened to today’s youth— too much estrogenic soy crap and not enough lean meat. No wonder the world’s testosterone levels have been dropping like a rock.

We still had cancer and heart disease.. people still died. No one lived forever then either. I have a lot of super obese vegetarian co workers they have heart disease too.

Supposedly obesity is the number one cause of death now rather than cancer.
