Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Thursday called on Congress to look into issues related to gun violence less than 24 hours after 17 people were killed in a school shooting in Florida.
I will say, personally, I think the gun violence its a tragedy what weve seen yesterday, and I urge Congress to look at these issues, Mnuchin said at a House Ways and Means Committee hearing.
Mnuchins comments were notable, because he was the first senior Trump administration official to call for a congressional review after the massacre. He was responding to questions from Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) about whether there was any money in President Trumps new budget to address gun violence.

Ohio is one of a handful of states that allow teachers to obtain additional training in order to be able to carry concealed on school grounds.
How things might have been different if Football Coach Aaron Feis were able to protect his students with a Smith & Wesson Shield, rather than using his body as a shield.
We don’t have a gun violence problem..we have a MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEM..we can’t even freely talk about GOD anymore without being laughed at by Commie libs..some people just don’t have a soul, taking away the gun isn’t going to change that..never seen a gun shot itself
Mnuchin is not Manchin..................
Hey Treasury Secretary, maybe you should focus on something useful to the American People like::
By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 301 of title 3 of the United States Code, it is ordered as follows:
SECTION 1. Executive Order No. 10289 of September 19, 1951, as amended, is hereby further amended —
(a) By adding at the end of paragraph 1 thereof the following subparagraph (j):
“(j) The authority vested in the President by paragraph (b) of section 43 of the Act of May 12, 1933, as amended (31 U.S.C. 821 (b)), to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or standard silver dollars in the Treasury not then held for redemption of any outstanding silver certificates, to prescribe the denominations of such silver certificates, and to coin standard silver dollars and subsidiary silver currency for their redemption,” and
(b) By revoking subparagraphs (b) and (c) of paragraph 2 thereof.
SEC. 2. The amendment made by this Order shall not affect any act done, or any right accruing or accrued or any suit or proceeding had or commenced in any civil or criminal cause prior to the date of this Order but all such liabilities shall continue and may be enforced as if said amendments had not been made.

Let me be the first to say that in this Case we needed less Gun Control and more Cruz Control.
Try the Bastard and let him dance at the end of a Rope. Maybe it’s time for Public Executions to get People’s minds right.
Congress should do something. The feds own the database and the background check process. Somebody who is a known threat should be flagged from buying a gun. I don’t know where this guy got his weapon, but the above is common sense. Same thing with folks who need drugs to remain sane.....Sorry, you can’t buy a gun. The Feds probably have legislation which mandates gun free zones. These zones should be abolished at the federal level and let local communities decide.
I was stunned the other day to learn the feds passes legislation protecting graffiti as art. Get the hell out of our lives.
Roger that
My son and I ordered two 80% Glock Lowers on Tuesday. I guess we beat the rush.
Time to stop clinging to poltical dogmas and start looking at what a dysfunctional society we created in the guise of "Promoting fairness" and "not ostracizing differences in people". This kids should of been delt with by law enforcement LONG before it was allowed to reach this state.
But it so much easier for the Media/Political class to cling to a foolish political agenda then do the hard work of actually looking at the real problems and come up with real solutions
Seems like a person’s ID could tell anything about a person that should be known?
The 'individual responsibility' is anathema to communism, ergo, individuals are not responsible for their actions, but a group of some kind will be. Hilliary called for the destruction of 'cult of individualism'.....................
Proposed: Ban access/possession of the law-abiding (the only ones who obey firearm laws) to guns as a means of preventing gun scofflaws’ access/possession of guns.
Another ignorant idiot who thinks Congress can control everything.
100% agree. This place was a total criminal free fire zone.
Supposedly there were two school resource officers. There are over 3200 students at the school. (That in itself is an educational travesty)
But, the school is the size of a small town.
The average population of a small city in America is about 6000.
A friend of mine is mayor of a town of 4,000. If I recall correctly, his police department has about 20 officers.
This school had two. Recommended Police/Citizen ratio is 2 per 1000.
The city/school was woefully unprotected, although I’m certain there was a no weapons allowed sing on the front door.
Some just can’t keep their mouths shut
Hey, Steve, where’s your opining on abortion violence?
Drug violence?
AIDS violence?
Knive violence?
Islamic auto violence?
The push to disarm us intensifies and the rush is on to do it so the ruling elite can collapse the economy and remove Trump without citizen reprisal. Sounds conspiratorial I know but nothing political surprises me anymore.
Oh yeah, and about “FBI neglect”?
FBI politicization?
FBI priorities?
Educational safety neglect?
Drudge is click baiting this as gun control. By all means lets investigate gun violence. Why are blacks decimating each other with guns? What will it take to get them to stop killing each other? And has been proven by Lott lets investigate how gun ownership reduces crime. I have no worries about this investigation.
....and the nuts will come.
They’re coming after our AR’s. With help and support from the GOPe. Open Borders and AWB are coming.
