Excellent question - maybe his parents lawyered up yesterday afternoon? That area of SE FL is a pretty nice area ...
Most of the articles have reported that his adoptive mother died last October; and that he had been living with the family of one of his friends.
No mention of a father, though.
Parents both died in the last few years, forgot who he was living with. No bar to his purchasing a firearm since apparently the authorities weren't notified of his violent, threatening behavior. Or if they were, they did nothing. Laws don't work if those administering them don't or can't. Obviously he was a danger. The liberal solution, let's pass more laws. Don't hold those responsible for what is essentially a law enforcement failure responsible.
There has been a lot of news about his adoptive parents. Read the Sun-Sentiel. They’re both dead.
He was adopted. Both adoptive parents are deceased. His adoptive farther died years ago and his adoptive mother died 6 months ago. He was living at a friends house.
Was he a "Dreamer"?
I have read that Nikolas and his brother were adopted at a young age in Long Island. Apparently he was a troubled child from the get-go, which is often the case with some adopted children because of the irresponsible people who create them in the first place. If the story I read is correct, his father died about ten years ago and his mother had problems handling Nikolas, unsurprisingly. She died last year and the angry, troubled 18 year old moved in with a “friend’s” family and worked at the dollar store.
If public school had it’s way, you would never know about him. They have the all-mighty attitude that they know best, and they can handle it in-house. That’s why they berate teachers that dare to talk about going to the police when they are assaulted in the classroom.
Blame public school. They created him, and failed to tell the rest of us about him.
The media cherry picks what we hear to support its agenda. Politically motivated self censorship is fake news. Don’t believe what you hear and think about what’s being withheld.
I wonder how many of the recent shooters came from single parent families?
I wonder how many of the recent shooters came from single parent families?
Do we want to hear from them?
When Natalie Holloway went missing on a class trip in Aruba, the mother of suspect, Joran Vandersloot, told the world, "he's a good kid." And reportedly his father helped him dispose of her body.
Then he killed another girl.
Both his parents are dead.
That's the first thing out of a liberal gun-grabber's mouth when a weapon is abused. Don't fall for it.
He was adopted.
Father died some time ago-—but not a long time
Mother passed away 11-1-17 due to the flu.
He was over 18 & legally bought the gun.
He had been taken in by another family..
Was working & had been a good employee.....at least by today’s standards.
UNTIL the country & Congress mandates that mentally disturbed people are identified-—thank you ACLU-—and either such information placed in EVERY data base in the country, or they are placed in facilities-—thanks AGAIN ACLU for closing such places-—we will have this tug of war over owning a gun.
Millions of Americans won guns that have never harmed anyone. None of us deserve to be punished for the actions of crazies or marginal crazies. I include Pelosi in the crazy class. Keep in mind that, IIRC, there are only 7 CCW permits in San Fran & Di Fi & her bodyguards have 6 of them.
Why haven’t I heard a single word about his parents?
Wrong thread.
There are a few that mention he was adopted, with his adopted father dying when he was 9, and mother last November.
