Excluding Trump, the RNC are still a bunch of bumbling, patrician idiots. Either that, or they are trying to throw the fight, but neither choice is good. The Democrats could still be waylaid by their own criminality, but the GOP has to get serious about the mid-terms now, not later.

But with all of the money the Republican National Committee is raising compared to the practically nil the Democrat National Committee is raising, this ought not be happening. There ought not be any Democrat winning significant elections right now, not in the slightest, and yet it’s happening. I thought you needed to know. The RNC has been pointing to its large bank balances as a sign of how healthy the GOP is relative to its Democratic counterpart. These people don't seem to understand that that election victories are the primary sign of a political party's health, not the number of zeroes on its bank balance.
