A disarmed population has little choice but to flee. There’s a lesson there, somewhere.

People are fleeing the socialism forced on them in Venezuela

“How did they force it on you, Gomez?”
“By letting us vote!”

Before, Colombians came in droves to work and live, mostly illegally. People from all over South America did the same in varying levels of legality.

Now it is the opposite. The engineers fled long ago. Now the ordinary people are fleeing with the clothes on their backs. People drive 16 hours each way to buy groceries in Brazil, they live smuggling gasoline into Colombia over back roads, people huddle in their homes hoping to avoid being mugged in broad daylight.

I heard Venezuelan soil is among the most fertile in the world. Combined with year-round tropical climate, country should be wealthy.

I really believe once we find out the death toll from especially Maduro’s rule of Venezuela, it may run (sadly) into the millions....

Looking down, they could see the last convulsions: the lights of the cars were darting through the streets, like animals trapped in a maze, frantically seeking an exit, the bridges were jammed with cars, the approaches to the bridges were veins of massed headlights, glittering bottlenecks stopping all motion...

Rush touched in this, today. His take is that the Enemy Media and the Left will find some way to blame this on PDJT and Conservatives, especially when these people turn up at our southern border. They’ll NEVER look inward and blame Socialism/Communism. It’s just not in their DNA.

And I’m betting that Rush is right!

I saw Maduro, all smiley, waving his hands, surrounded by people with vacant looks, nevertheless, clapping and obviously showing support to this monster.

Until those people realize that their countrymen are suffering, needlessly, the problem will never be solved.

I was appalled by what looked like a rally for what is essentially the cause of all their problems. They probably were the “elites” and it makes me sick.

Hard to have sympathy for that country.

Colombia is going to suffer taking care of the Venezuelan refugees.

Better to establish a beach head and arm the refuges. Let them take care of home country’s problem.

My 2 cents.
