W00t!
I did it to myself! LOL!
In other news, the BB SUV is in the shop and I was told that it would finished “around elevenish.” That’s about an hour longer than I had at first contemplated, based on the labor cost, but as long as it’s done.
Jerry now refers to Mr Bill as my “little puddle jumper,” but I don’t know whether to take it as a complement or an insult. :o|
However, as long as it stops better, I’ll be happy. It’s a good thing I’m not driving it to Hurricane, because I would need new tires before that happened. I want to try and make these tires last as long as possible, as it will give me time to find a good mechanic and a good tire store.
I’m glad Mr. Bill will be doing better soon. Jamie-our-hairdresser was poorly this morning, so I’m stuck with the hair until ... whenever.
I have baked several things.
I miss baking.
I miss having the yummy smells in my apartment. And sharing things with Charlie.
Speaking of whom, when I come back in from visiting with him, I will call Utah.
Good idea. Before you know it, you’ll be baking again.
Start date is TBD. The hourly rate (I’m an independent consultant) is lower than we wanted but meets our needs.
Don't you have a weed-whacker?
Oh, right, ladies care how their hair is cut.
Be sure and let us know how Utah is doing.
I called and left a message. This seems to be SOP for him.
I’m glad you don’t have to move. That’s always tough to do when you’ve lived in one place for any length of time.
The BB SUV is back, and less than quoted, so I’m happy!
I told Jerry I was leaving, and he seemed sorry, so I asked him if he might be able to recommend someone in Hurricane that wouldn’t try to take advantage of an ol’ woman. His response was, “Don’t kid yourself! No one is going to take advantage of YOU! You’re too tough!”
Yepper!
I hope Utah calls back soon.
Poor Jamie is throwing up. Probably caught the flu.
At this hour, I doubt if Utah will call back until Monday, since its already close to “quitting time” there.
I’m sorry for Jamie! It’s been a lotta years (1980) since I’ve had the flu and I wouldn’t wish it on my best enemy!
The walk down to get the truck wasn’t bad at all, but the weather wasn’t as nice as it was when Charlie and I were out. I couldn’t even use the sidewalk on Pacific, due to the construction.
As I was coming home, I saw some very ugly clouds covering Mt Charleston and and the wind got colder. And Hurricane is colder still, with rain... (what have I DONE?)
Well, there is another option. You can have some banana bread.
;-)
One advantage of surviving multiple decades on this planet is that by the time you are at the point where the senior discount is automatically applied instead of needing to ask for it, you have been exposed to just about all the varieties of flu that are in the wild and have antibodies for them..
And that is what is promised in Philippians..
Congrats on the new job.
The New Job
The curse of the Peter Principle,
Is that you rise too far,
Your meteoric path just marks,
The scene of a shooting star.
The burnout comes real quickly then,
And suddenly its "splat",
Your hopes and aspirations,
Your dreams have fallen flat.
Thats how it is for most of us,
Whose rise has topped the chart,
But some there are who need not fear,
This fate upon their part.
So modest when you meet them,
So capable and bright,
Its hard to see how anything,
Could be beyond their might.
With quiet understanding,
Intensity and joy,
When given challenges, they excel,
Each day begins, "Oh boy!"
They just keep moving upward,
With placid, stolid strides,
Excelling, with aplomb, you see,
And something else besides.
Just like a king or emperor,
They often speak of "we",
In challenges theyve met alone,
Theyve had some company.
Sometimes they even speak as though,
Someone is at their side,
Someone to look up to,
And to speak at eventide.
"We thank You for the gifts You sent,"
He said, though quite alone.
"And for the talent You have lent,
We struggle to atone."

Very nice, Bob. I especially like the last verse.
The last time I got the flu I lost eleven pounds in a week. looking back, I think I only got the flu three times in my entire life.
And the senior discounts are often nothing much to brag about.
Now the Common Cold...there are approximately 101 strains of the Common Cold, and a person only gets one a year. Any more frequently and you’re dealing with allergies. (I don’t get colds, either. But pneumonia? Yah.)
I want to go to WinCo to get a few things, but the wind chill is 32° and I’m not excited about being out in something like that.
LOOK! A floof just magically appeared on my FR feed!
Good morning. I slept a little late. I was dreaming that I’d turned on some kind of electronic equipment and couldn’t get it to shut off.
