Adviser to Khamenei says aid collectors for Palestinians sought to deploy reptiles whose skin 'attracted atomic waves'

The former chief-of-staff of Iran’s armed forces said Tuesday that Western spies had used lizards to “attract atomic waves” and spy on his country’s nuclear program.
It was the latest in a long line of incidents of Western countries, including Israel, being accused of deploying secret agents from the animal kingdom.
Hassan Firuzabadi, senior military adviser to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was responding to questions from local media on the recent arrest of environmentalists.
He said he did not know the details of the cases, but that the West had often used tourists, scientists and environmentalists to spy on Iran.
“Several years ago, some individuals came to Iran to collect aid for Palestine… We were suspicious of the route they chose,” he told the reformist ILNA news agency.
“In their possessions were a variety of reptile desert species like lizards, chameleons… We found out that their skin attracts atomic waves and that they were nuclear spies who wanted to find out where inside the Islamic Republic of Iran we have uranium mines and where we are engaged in atomic activities,” he said.
Firuzabadi said Western spy agencies had “failed every time.”
His comments came after news that a leading Iranian-Canadian environmentalist, Kavous Seyed Emami, had committed suicide in prison after he was arrested along with other members of his wildlife NGO last month.
Several spying allegations involving various creatures have been leveled against Israel over the past years.
In January 2016, Lebanese residents captured a griffon vulture wearing an Israeli tracking device, but released it upon realizing that the transmitter strapped to the bird was intended for scientific research rather than espionage.
Several months earlier, Hamas claimed to have caught a dolphin wearing Israeli spying equipment.
Twice in recent years, Turkish media has highlighted allegations that birds tagged with Israeli university tracking devices were on espionage missions.
In 2012, an eagle with an Israeli tag in Sudan was captured and alleged to be as a Mossad spy.
Two years earlier, an Egyptian official said Israel-controlled sharks may have been involved in a number of attacks on tourists in the Red Sea.

I got a phone call around 1600 yesterday, and it was Denise, putting pressure on me to move out so they can use my apartment for someone in the first phase.
Could I check with that place in Utah to see if I could move in sooner? Sure, Denise, I’ll just run right up there and tell people to start dying just so I could move in by June 30.
I don’t have enough stress; they have to add a little more.
Tell Denise to move out of wherever she lives!

The thing is, no one in “authority” is concerned for the seniors. If they were, they would just fix what’s wrong with the apartments, putting in on-demand water heaters, new appliances, double-paned windows, etc. But no. They want to move us out, tear these places down and rebuild them into places we’re “really gonna love.” Charlie says he already is “really gonna hate it.”
I was supposed to go to the doctor today, but instead, I’m going to go get my hair cut, (0800) and when I get back I’ll put the color in. If it’s too intense, I’ll just use mayonnaise to draw some of the color out. I’ll reschedule the doctor appointment for next week, when my life is somewhat back to normal.
Speaking from experience, if the cat spew is allowed to dry, its easier to clean up. But you probably have too many feet running around for that approach to be effective.

The cat spew had been there for a while.
I’m off to Weight Watchers with Frank and Kathleen. None of the Young Adults is stirring, but I assume Sally will be delivered to work in about an hour.
What a wonderful week I’m having. In trying to get a “thank you” doily starched and ironed, I noticed a small spot on it, kind of pinkish in color. So I hurried and scrubbed it out and hung the doily over the shower curtain rod to dry.
In ironing the luncheon cloth the same thing happened, and there was no real heat, no matter what the setting, and I realized that at last, after 30 years, my iron died. Now I need to go get another one. (The iron is spitting its innards on my projects.)
And then go get my hair cut. I’m thinking I’m not supposed to go. The necklace and earrings I chose for the specific outfit are beautiful, but the necklace broke. *sigh* Now I have to see if I have enough for an iron because I have no idea what they cost these days.
Pressure turns coal into diamonds and irritation turns a grain of sand into a pearl, but I’m turning into a blithering idiot.
As was I.
I love the way even the most clearly written statement can be misinterpreted and occasionally share that perverted sense of humor with the group here.

Maybe Denise could call? Does she have a twin brother named Denephew? I always wondered whether an uncle named girls Denise?
Maybe Denise could find a job helping younger people who aren’t adversely affected by change. Or maybe she could go up and tell five people to die in the next few days so I can move up according to her timetable.

Well, that’s a whole string of Bummer. I can understand why you’re worried about the haircut.
Kristy told me I had “nice hair” and she trimmed off between 1-2”, so the dead ends are gone and it’s looking nice again. She advised against coloring it because the front hairs are coming in white, and would look like I had a halo in a week. All I want is for it to look good for the wedding. After that, “meh.”
The drive to Great Clips allowed me a few minutes to think, and I believe I can fix the necklace. I just need a really bright light and about three pairs of reading classes. I don’t want to take it to the jeweler because he’ll charge me.
Now, of course, I’m worn to a frazzle. I’ll go sit with Charlie and when I come in, I’ll tackle the luncheon cloth and maybe even get the necklace fixed.
I cancelled the appointment at the pain clinic, and the earliest I could get was July 31. I think my suitcase is ready to be packed. The toiletries are ready, and I’ll pack my portable nebulizer in the morning.
The flight gets in at 1650 tomorrow, so I’m going to be a walking goofball by the time we get to St George. I’ll have to take my pills just before I leave, or I’ll never sleep. One way or another, I’ll look at that room to rent.
