Adviser to Khamenei says aid collectors for Palestinians sought to deploy reptiles whose skin 'attracted atomic waves'

The former chief-of-staff of Iran’s armed forces said Tuesday that Western spies had used lizards to “attract atomic waves” and spy on his country’s nuclear program.
It was the latest in a long line of incidents of Western countries, including Israel, being accused of deploying secret agents from the animal kingdom.
Hassan Firuzabadi, senior military adviser to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was responding to questions from local media on the recent arrest of environmentalists.
He said he did not know the details of the cases, but that the West had often used tourists, scientists and environmentalists to spy on Iran.
“Several years ago, some individuals came to Iran to collect aid for Palestine… We were suspicious of the route they chose,” he told the reformist ILNA news agency.
“In their possessions were a variety of reptile desert species like lizards, chameleons… We found out that their skin attracts atomic waves and that they were nuclear spies who wanted to find out where inside the Islamic Republic of Iran we have uranium mines and where we are engaged in atomic activities,” he said.
Firuzabadi said Western spy agencies had “failed every time.”
His comments came after news that a leading Iranian-Canadian environmentalist, Kavous Seyed Emami, had committed suicide in prison after he was arrested along with other members of his wildlife NGO last month.
Several spying allegations involving various creatures have been leveled against Israel over the past years.
In January 2016, Lebanese residents captured a griffon vulture wearing an Israeli tracking device, but released it upon realizing that the transmitter strapped to the bird was intended for scientific research rather than espionage.
Several months earlier, Hamas claimed to have caught a dolphin wearing Israeli spying equipment.
Twice in recent years, Turkish media has highlighted allegations that birds tagged with Israeli university tracking devices were on espionage missions.
In 2012, an eagle with an Israeli tag in Sudan was captured and alleged to be as a Mossad spy.
Two years earlier, an Egyptian official said Israel-controlled sharks may have been involved in a number of attacks on tourists in the Red Sea.

I should have gotten it years ago. If I could have transitioned from a county employee to a retired county employee, I would have been able to keep the $150,000 policy I had at the time. But I went from employed to waiting for disability acceptance and that took 16 months.
It was only after Igor passed away that I was able to draw his SS, at which point my own SS (which was used as my disability payments) that I had enough income to kick me out of Medicaid. Worst of all, county doesn’t take out SS funds, and I had to quit six weeks before I would have been tenured. So, no county retirement with all its benefits.
And some days, thanks to CFIDS, my brain doesn’t function properly, so my decision-making skills are often compromised. I tell people I deal with not to give me more than one option because that decision could take several minutes. Or days.
Like life insurance. It took almost two weeks for that decision.

Back from the gym. Anoreth thinks the Dog may have a kidney stone. She’s made an appointment with our vet for later today. I have to go to Walmart: I accidentally bought dog food instead of cat food the last time!
Somehow I don't think the dog would be sad about that.
No, but the dog has lots of food: some that was moved from Seattle, and then Anoreth bought another big bag yesterday. The cats could eat the dog food, but it’s in slightly bigger pieces than the same brand of cat food, so Shannon would spew even more than usual.
Still ugly out. My trip to this Walmart was almost as disappointing as yesterday’s was. The unwashed hordes who get massive amounts of benefits for SNAP cards picked the shelves clean for the last two days, and their payday (the money part of it) isn’t until tomorrow. Had I been able to shop at 0330 - 0400, I could have gotten what I needed before they came to pick over stuff. *sigh* Hopefully, the Wally’s in Hurricane will still be 24/7 by the time I move.
I did get to see two of my favorite Night Stalkers, though, so that was good. The other two favorites have gone to Days. :o[
Proteins (cheese and lunch meat) was on the list for the hypoglycemic diet but there wasn’t enough left. The foods I can afford are the ones I shouldn’t eat. I’m thinking I’m just going to forget about the diet. Or wait until June. This is the last time I’m going to talk about the depression that comes with payday, now that I’ve vented to the world.
It’s too embarrassing to repeat.
I hope I’ll have better results on my trip to Walmart. It will be amusing, at least, because Tom.
Not to mention the fact that dog food has less protein in it than cat food, and cats won’t thrive on it for long.

In case the vehicle had broken down, they could have hooked up the dog and mushed the rest of the way.
The dog would have needed nourishment.
I studied to be a veterinary office assistant, before I found work with the county, and managed to pick up a few things that have helped me in my love for critters! ;o]
I wish I could have finished and gone to be a Vet Tech, but that was a two-year school and the closest one was in San Diego. I didn’t have a car, and I tore the ligament in my left ankle and couldn’t navigate the buses on crutches. I had to drop out of the school. I had so much fun in that class!
She hasn’t got the dog to the vet, yet, but we think it’s a UTI. That would be consistent with the several-days-and-nights car trip in which she didn’t get to drink or pee often enough.
I'm getting rather short of patience with all things Nevada. (With the possible exception of the Vegas Golden Knights!)
We should have simple, online license renewal for drivers and vehicles in every state.
Poor Dog. How old is she?
I have frequent UTIs which is why I buy industrial strength cranberry pills (which I forgot to get this time) and it’s possible that the milder cranberry pills can help Dog, too. I’d ask the vet about that, to make sure, but it would help at times if cranberry pills were available.
I could renew my license online if I were younger, but NV discriminates against seniors. Come in or get a doctor to sign off on your health.
My truck has to be renewed in person, as well, since I have to prove I haven’t driven over 3000 miles.
Like I said, the patience is wearing thin.
We think she’s about 10.
I think something close to 90 percent of Nevada is owned by the Federal Government.
