Syrian anti-aircraft fire shoots down Israeli fighter jet, Israeli military says
ABC ^ | 2/10/18

Posted on 02/10/2018 12:43:35 AM PST by Lera

The Israeli military has shot down an Iranian drone that infiltrated the country and has struck Iranian targets in Syria that launched it, in what the military called a "severe and irregular violation of Israeli sovereignty".

The military said its planes faced heavy anti-aircraft counter fire from Syria that forced Israeli pilots to abandon an F-16 jet that crashed in northern Israel.

It said the pilots were injured and evacuated to a hospital. Sirens sounded in northern Israel as a result of massive Syrian fire.

Explosions could be heard in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley region near the Syrian border.

Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Conricus said Iran was "responsible for this severe violation of Israeli sovereignty".

The military said it was "monitoring events and is fully prepared for further action".

Syrian state TV quoted a military official saying Syrian air defences hit more than one Israeli plane.

Everything is George Bush’s fault.

There it is, the typical Bush supporter response, which one would expect from a 10 year old. Maybe Jeb will run again and give ya another shot at their corrupt dynasty.☺

The Christians of Syria say that Assad protects them from jihadists. The policies of our neocons always end up leading to jihadis slaughtering Christians. See: Iraq.

Exactly. They way to get Iran and Hezbollah out of Syria is to stop supporting rebels and to help rebuild the country.

“”Everything is George Bush’s fault.””

Speaking of which, here is a recording of Bush just a few years prior to the housing collapse, where Bush was demanding home loans for totally unqualified minorities.

Neocons will tell you to ignore what Christians have to say for themselves. They don’t matter. Neocons are mad that Christian interests even come up.

US doesn’t own the Syrian war.

I guess you call a good guy, the Assads, who helped bomb 250 Marines in 1983, Bashar allowed terrorists to stream through Syria to attack and kill US troops.

“Neocons will tell you to ignore what Christians have to say for themselves. They don’t matter. Neocons are mad that Christian interests even come up.”

Sadly, that’s been my impression too. US media also tends to black out the plight of Middle East Christians, and how our support for jihadis in Syria and elsewhere amounts to a death sentence for their Christian victims. When Assad and Russia kicked the jihadis out of Aleppo, there were massive outdoor Christmas celebrations - after years of Christians living in fear. But you had to go to foreign media to see the pictures. US media elites don’t like Christianity

Those POS who didn’t even vote for Trump and a two cent petty dictatorship that had NOTHING to do with 9/11

(here’s where tons of worthless 2 cent bits of “evidence” will be dumped on FR PROVING with a threat this penny ante dictator was)

oh, and if you do invade, make sure there’s not enough men to secure the borders so Syria and Iran can kill our guys too.

Oh and let the budget deficit go through the roof.

And turn your head away from immigration.

And kiss the Sauds’ asses because you and pop are so in bed with them i’m surprised the Bushes didn’t get pregnant.

#### pop and the kids.

Damn them to hell, traitors that they are.

Or is deleting proof saudis were involved ok nowadays?

Israel has launched sorties in Syria, correct? A sovereign country? And so have we. So have the Russians, but they were (and are) invited by the Syrian government.

I would like to know the facts of the case, but I do know that if any other country launched (uninvited) sorties over our airspace, we would be justified in defending ourselves. If the Israeli plane went into Syria, got targeted by AD, hit, then limped back to Israel before crashing, it isn’t at all unexpected.

We, or allies we fund, recently shot down a Russian jet. It is good that Russia has not yet retaliated. Why are we funding opposition in Syria while crying about alleged Russian interference in our elections? Oh yeah, I forgot, our neoconservative foreign policy is “exceptional” /s. The neoconservatives seem to hate everything truly conservative, like marriage, babies and guns, but bombing sovereign countries is exceptional!

Assad also harbored Saddam’s brother until the US forced Syria to give him up, the war was almost expanded into Syria, Iraq’s president blamed Assad for aiding Al Qaeda. This is all history on a timeline, that putinistas can not change.

“” “” expanded into Syria, Iraq’s president blamed Assad for aiding Al Qaeda.”” “”

Currently Assad is at war with Al Qaeda and certain US senators are backing and arming the latter. Should we invade Arizona and have regime change there over it?
