"Todays WW2 vets are at a point where Civil war vets were in the 1930s."

I was just thinking about that recently. The last surviving Civil War general (to hold general's rank during the war) was Adelbert Ames who died at age 97 in 1933. King Michael of Romania died this past December at 96, and was to my knowledge, the last surviving person to have held general officer rank (or equivalent) during WWII.

It’s unreal. All those guys who were in their late teens, even early teens in the Civil war all very old men and then all of them are gone. I found a movie last month that was utterly mind blowing, Civil war vets being interviewed and it was amazing, they had a sense of humor like anybody today. I’ll see if I can find it....

Here it is, found it! Watch this, it’s amazing..........
