Pence is a gentleman, but it was simply foolish to engage Rippon. Rippon is an aggrieved, young, foolish homosexual. He certainly isn’t going to change his opinion on anything, nor show any respect, particularly overnight and in such a public forum.
Simply ignoring him would have been the best decision.
I suppose that's better than to engage with someone that's acted hateful, but I prefer Trump's approach of insulting the guy!
