Once a year on July 4th might be a good idea.
5.56mm
Careful, LT...you’re going to upset the Chairborne Rangers in our midst...lol.
And what of Great Britannia now? What of the French now?
Over run by every vile piece of third world vermin these is, while their true countrymen suffer & die.
But HEY! They can put on very pretty Military parades!
Why be so vocal in your anti parade crap? Just shut up and let us deplorable patriots enjoy it?
Molly is right. We need more unashamed Patriots or just dissolve this stupid Union. Libertarians hate borders and the military. Are you one?
I say do it on Veterans Day this year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI on 11/11/1918.
In the early 1900s weren’t there veteran’s parades for Civil War vets periodically?
The Navy could send crew representation from Battle E winning ships. Other services could do similar. Each state could send state championship sports teams, bands, orchcestras, and clubs. Medal winners for National Scholastic Art and Writing contests could go. Olympic Medalists from the last winter (this year)/summer (2016) Olympics. Nobel Prize winners (make Obama refuse), Pulitzer winners (make em refuse), National poet laureates, Any world wide award winners - Make it a real show. New models of cars - Have a Falcon Heavy rocket from Musk.
Don’t limit it to just the Military make it an all day affair that celebrates everything that is good and great and how we excel as a nation.
Floats could be focused on US accomplishments since the end of WWI over the last century.
Nobody is going to make you watch or attend. As a matter of fact DON’T watch it - please.
The 11th of November’s origins are the end of the First World War! The 4th of July is the date on which we declared our INDEPENDENCE which led to the Revolution heard around the world. It is the birthday of the greatest country the world has ever seen. The war was won by our bedraggled soldiers with the help of the French. A minority of our countrymen fought for our independence and yet we all have profited by their valor for generations. We need to CELEBRATE our Armed Forces every day!
I am not emotionally upset. I do have an opinion and I have a Constitutional right to express it. I am arguing for my position.
Wise up! Without the “Frenchies” we would still be English!
But then we have you...
. I prefer to walk silently and carry a big stick, rather than brag.
.........................................................
Strange! If you have a problem with bragging, what are you doing claiming you’re from Texas?
We dont have to copy them.
I believe the whole world knows we are the bad asses of the whole world bar none without having to show off our stuff. How embarrassing would it be to get about a third of the way through and a truck towing a missile break down or have a flat? It's just unnecessary.
Also, what would we put in the parade? Everyone knows we have artillery. They know we have tanks. How impressive is it to see a 20 ft. missile? Even Mexico has those. Are we really going to dry dock a nuclear submarine and tow it down Pennsylvania Avenue to show the world ours is bigger than yours? This is very expensive silliness. The whole reason Russia, China, N. Korea and others do this is they are insecure.
Another thing to think about is a fighter having to bail out over Washington due to not enough spare parts with the emaciated Defense Budget. I vote no.
If you always look for an excuse to not do something, you will always find one.
So you are against a pass and review by the military for the people of this country, right?
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never harm me. Lopeover & out
Should be an annual affair every 4th of July.
.............................................................
I TOTALLY agree! Time to shake out the wimps in this country and congratulate and honor the warriors.
