We need only go back to Eden in Genesis where God commanded Adam not to eat a certain apple. Eve demanded he eat it. Adam obeyed Eve against the will of God Himself.

I would say she never actually read the story in the Bible because that is not how it went.

Probably her sister never did either.

Which might possibly be the contributing factor to how they turned out.

Seems like the sister turned out quite well - a conservative women with family values. She was obviously speaking or writing off-the-cuff about the Adam and Eve story. Why we would be making a big deal out of it - in a very interesting interview - is beyond me.
