Bloggers & Personal is for vanities and blogs. You can post something from a blog, even if it’s not your own blog. Big complaint is bloggers posting excerpts of their own blogs on FR just to get the hits. If you’re posting your own blog, post the whole article, since there should be no copyright restriction for publishing your own stuff.

It certainly has become more difficult to distinguish between some blogs and certain news sites. Drudge Report would be a good example of something that doesn’t really fit either, although I think he was considered more of a blogger type starting out years ago. Drudge doesn’t write news stories but collects them in one place where they are easy to find.

According to “Whois Dcwhispers.com”, Dcwhispers is owned by James Jenness since 2015. Dcwhispers was registered with GODADDY.COM LLC on April 07, 2015. James Jenness resides in Anderson, USA and their email is jim@bigjimj.com.

I’ll be darned if I can find any info about who this James Jenness character really is.

I’ve never had a blog of my own, and expect never to in the future.

I do enjoy opinion pieces, and I guess those might qualify as blogs, since they’re not news. Jim does say that some blogs are more equal than others and go in news, but that he doesn’t like rules. So that’s probably the basis of the confusion. But without a list of what blogs go where, there will undoubtedly still be confusion in the future. What I’m hearing is that all blogs should be published in full in the blogs area unless they’re informally acceptable in the news area.

DCWhispers. I’ve read people talking about them and there seems to be consensus that they’re another anonymous source. But one that does seem to have some significant connections. They’re never over the top or out on the edge. And they seem to be exactly what their name implies - someone with an ear to the DC gossip circuit. Like the famous child’s game, what they report can be true or not. But the fact that the gossip is what is being heard is worthwhile information to me just at that level. I do recommend it to you as something to keep an eye on.
