Where do you come by your “1-2 years” on citizenship?

Everyone I know who applied for citizenship spent 7+10 years in the process, that and a few hundred dollars, not your “1-2 years,”

I think you have to be a permanent resident for 5 years and then you can apply...

and then the very brief process itself begins. They're trying to make it about 6 months.
