Ok so how and when did all those things happen? Surely if the Catholic Church apostasized there must be some record of it historically.
Long records of extra biblical and heretical teachings added in. In addition several times the Catholic Church had 2 different popes running around excommunicating each other. Which vicarious Christ on earth was correct? Or maybe the popes werent so infallible.... For a semi complete listing please see the 95 theses ( a very historical record).
You also forget that the Catholic Church denied access to the scripture by the laity teaching that only the Church could interpret scripture. You had to be part of the club to study scripture and the club brooked no dissent or they tossed you back out to be with the unwashed. Im sure that and the fact that most reformers met a grisly death kept a lot of criticism off the official record...
