Muslims are Converting to Christianity in Record Numbers
National Catholic Register ^ | Patti Armstrong

Posted on 01/26/2018 1:04:07 PM PST by GoldenState_Rose

We are in a time of the first ever mass conversions of Muslims,” Father Mitch Pacwa SJ told me in a phone interview. “God is doing a mighty work among them.”

Pacwa said that mass conversions are happening even in very fundamentalist countries. There is rapidly growing number of conversions especially on the edges of the Muslim world in the western and southern parts of Africa, he said. “Africa is now growing predominantly Christian despite crackdowns,” Pacwa said.

Some of the noteworthy countries he mentioned include Iran, reported to have 3 million Christians, and Indonesia with reports of 2 million a year converting.

“In Mongolia, the president opened the country to Christians and there’s even an archbishop,” Pacwa said. “They built a Catholic school there too. If I was younger, I would have gone.” He said that the desire for a Western education was the impetus to open up the country to the Catholic Church.

There are even conversions happening in many strict Muslim countries, according to Pacwa. He did not want to go on record with particulars for fear of increased retribution. Mass conversions are also being reported among refugees that are filling up the Christian churches left empty by Europeans. Many wonder if those are authentic conversions or just a response to improving their chances for amnesty, but time will tell.

Signs of this conversion are showing up in the U.S. too, Pacwa said. “I was about to celebrate Mass at a Maronite church in San Diego and I said hi to a man who introduced himself as Achmad. I asked if he was a Christian. He said: ‘Yes, I was recently baptized.’ He said he from Morocco. Christians do not have the name Ahmad—that’s a form of Mohammad.”

If I ask you to pray for me, I am not worshiping you.

If you ask Mary to pray for you; you are a respecter of persons; for you believe that she is more special than anyone else who's even lived.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Just bwhat IS the 'yoke of bondage'?

If you ask Mary to pray for you; you are a respecter of persons;

...and a disrespecter of Jesus and God, who you are effectively saying cannot keep up with all the prayers sent His/Their way.

Let me amend my previous statement:

...and a disrespecter of God, who you are effectively saying cannot keep up with all the prayers sent His way.

Since Jesus taught us to pray to the Father, not to Jesus.

“In your example, you are attributing to me certain characteristics which are properly Mary’s.”

Gotta disagree.

Every believer is graced by God. If you are a believer, you are graced. If not, no.
Every believer is blessed. I left out Jesus name, since you didn’t bear Him.

It points out that you are not simply “asking Mary to pray for you”... but you are praying to her and idolizing her.

It is very different than you claimed FRiend.

Um, have you missed 1 Thess 4:13-17?

13But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve like other people who have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so through Jesus God will bring those who have died with him. ISV

13And we will not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them that are asleep, that you be not sorrowful, even as others who have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died, and rose again; even so them who have slept through Jesus, will God bring with him. Douay-Rheims

13And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, that ye may not sorrow, as also the rest who have not hope, 14for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also God those asleep through Jesus he will bring with him, Young's Literal Translation

Where will JESUS be coming from to Rapture His Bride, His Body of Believers through History? When God brings the died WITH HIM, where is HE coming FROM? What did JESUS tells the disciples in John 14? IF you can discern this spiritually, there is no confusion as to where the quickened spirits of those who have died in Christ are now. Their bodies may have returned to the atomic sea, but their spirit is with HIM IN HEAVEN and GOD will bring them with JESUS at the Rapture moment of The Body of Believers both alive and dead.

And just another hint, the bride arrayed in White Linens returns with HIM to touch down on Earth (see the end of The Revelation of John).

Just like a lot of Catholics I've seen on FR, especially ones who post Scripture about a woman not to be teaching or having authority over a man in church, in an effort to silence women non-Catholic women on the RF.

It ain’t gonna happen, though I do remember several years ago, someone tried to silence you on the threads. I don’t remember who it was, but I remember, it didn’t work then, it won’t work now. 👍👍👋

because there are millions who waste a lot of time praying to dead people, and saints, and angels, and Mary who cannot hear or answer prayer.

People try to sugarcoat the whole thing, but ultimately it is called necromancy, and is expressly forbidden 🚫

If I have to use a snippet of scripture from here, another from there and a smidgen from somewhere else to come up with a future event, I consider that it’s not to be to a very reliable compilation of parts; much like a Calvinosaurus.

Els meister, since our thoughts on the bema seat 💺 don’t matter in our relationship to Jesus, we can feel free to agree to disagree on it. I believe it. If you don’t, then you best give me a Limerick. 👋

If I ask you to pray for me, I am not worshiping you.

Why did you bring up worshiping people?

I didn't say anything about it.

That is where so many of the commentators here go astray. They think pray = adore.

Praying to anyone but God = disobeying Jesus.

Roman Catholics do far more than just pray TO Mary...as if that wasn't egregious enough. Per this writer, they are relying upon her for salvation.

The Glories of Mary Romans 8:31-39 NASB
Blessed Henry Suso to say, ‘that he had placed his soul in the hands of Mary, and that if he was condemned, the sentence must pass through her hands; being confident that if it was in such hands, this tender Virgin would certainly prevent its execution. The same do I hope for myself, O my own most holy Queen; and therefore I will always repeat the words of Saint Bonaventure,

‘In thee, O Lady, have I placed all my hopes; and thus I confidently trust that I shall never be lost, but praise and love thee for ever in heaven.’ (p190)

31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36Just as it is written, “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.” 37But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Bible quotes from NASB

Perhaps you remember several weeks ago, some guy trying to convince you, that the bride of Christ, is the new Jerusalem. I don’t think anyone fell for that line.

The Claude Paradigm

“You Catholics are wrong because you believe X.”
“We don’t believe X.”
“Wrong again. Yes you do.”

I've got no time for this. God bless you.

If I ask you to pray for me, I am not worshiping you.

The bowing before the "statues" of Mary, the candles lit before her, the reliance upon her for practically everything in Roman Catholicism, the prayers TO her, the extensive writings, etc.....all point to one thing....the Roman Catholic worship of Mary. The Roman Catholic will deny it as they are too deep in Roman Catholicism to see...much as the Mormon or Hindu cannot see the error of their ways.

As you can see there are some fundamental differences between how a Roman Catholic prays to Mary and how Christians ask others to pray for them.

I do not have "statues" of my friends I bow before, light candles to, rely upon them for salvation etc, as found in Roman Catholicism.

You got that right.

I don’t have nay respect for people who use Scripture as a weapon to bludgeon others into submission to their particular legalistic standards.

““You Catholics are wrong because you believe X.”
“We don’t believe X.”
“Wrong again. Yes you do.”

Oooooo. This needs autocorrect.

“Romanism is wrong because it teaches unscriptural things.”
“[insert attempt to minimize, rationalize or use logical fallacy]
“Wrong for these reasons.”
“I’m leaving (after blaming those providing evidence)”

It’s not a growing problem.
It’s a going problem.
