I don’t think the Dems will accept Trumps trade off. Dems cannot accept 25 billion spent on the Trump Wall. Matter of fact this Trump proposal looks designed to split the Democrats up between those who want immediate payoffs such as DACA legalization and will accept a Trump Wall to get this. And the second group of Dems who think long term so are against a Trump Border Wall no matter what.
Any deal Trump makes he’ll want his conditions met first before the Dems get what they want. They want full amnesty for tens of millions of illegals, not the measly 1.8 million for the Dreamers. They don’t support a border wall, the end of chain migration, or a lottery system. They will never support any deal with those stipulations. In other words, the Democrats will get crumbs and not the whole loaf of bread if they sign on to this deal. That’s why it won’t be agreed upon by them. It’s easier for them to try and drive the president out of office and deal with Pence, and of course who’s third in line in the succession to the presidency if they drive him out too? Know your enemy Freepers. The president gets who the Democrats are. Apparently a lot of you still don’t!
You are correct. I agree with Trump here, altho he should add e-verify. Dems don’t care about DACA - they care about the future illegals who will flood this country.
Dems will be forced to choose between these people they claim to care about, or the reasonable concessions Trump proposes. This also is the most popular proposal in terms of public opinion, as clear majorities want a path to citizenship for those already here, AND stricter immigration controls for the future.
