The fundamental problem is that citizenships/naturalizations cannot be taken back once they are done. Other policies - even the wall - can be undermined or circumvented by future administrations. So, it isn’t ultimately much of a “trade” if one side of the deal is a bunch of new citizenships, and the other side of the deal are temporary concessions that can simply be overturned by the next administration.
Might want to check on this one again.
The Democrats will reject it. Count on it. Next offer should be the same except permanent residency and no path to citizenship. If they reject that as well, then a five year renewable visa with no path to citizenship. Eventually, they will get the idea that they should’ve taken the first deal.
That was the lesson of Reagan 1986 Amnesty, Dems understand this, that is why the most important thing is $$ upfront and border security first, than we can have a conversation about the other stuff.
The fundamental problem is even if this Congress approves every last line of this treasonous proposal, IT STILL SUCKS, and it will guarantee one party rule forever. If this passes, I will loathe Trump and everyone who votes for it.
While what you are saying is true, if we don’t have something like this, the next president - either party - will make them citizens with nothing in return.
