Feuding Democrats and Republicans in Congress are trying to dodge blame for a paralyzing standoff over immigration and showing few signs of progress on negotiations needed to end a government shutdown that stretched into a second day Sunday.
The finger-pointing played out in rare weekend proceedings in both the House and Senate, where lawmakers were eager to show voters they were actively working for a solution or at least actively making their case why the other party was at fault. The scene highlighted the political stakes for both parties in an election-year shutdown whose consequences are far from clear.
On Sunday morning, President Donald Trump upped the ante by tweeting that Senate Republicans should go "nuclear" if the government shutdown continues.
"Great to see how hard Republicans are fighting for our Military and Safety at the Border. The Dems just want illegal immigrants to pour into our nation unchecked," Trump tweeted.
"If stalemate continues, Republicans should go to 51% (Nuclear Option) and vote on real, long term budget, no C.R.s!"

Now we are getting somewhere....
Ratchet up the pressure on Schumkie.
What about McCain, Graham, and the other RINO sellouts?
What can anyone say/do to bring them in line?
BOOM!
It seems legit, but don’t forget about graham, the useless, dying, back stabbing jerk whose name shall not be said, Flake, Marco, and those women.
None of the Democrats will help pass this bill if their vote actually makes a difference.
“Nuclear Option” = 51% simple majority, the constitutional standard. It’s really “the Constitutional Option”, the ONLY valid option the feds have.
Why in the world is it not 51% simple majority to begin with? Answer - the Lying Leftists in BOTH parties ignore the Constitution whenever possible to the determent of We the People and our Free Constitutional Republic.
A 51% simple-majority vote before the first submission to the President is the constitutional standard and no other formula should be used.
Maybe that was the game plan all along. Trump playing “Rope-a-Dope”. A budget, that ought to shake things up a bit...
Trump will eat Chuck’s lunch.
This makes a lot of sense to me. These continuous CR's are getting tiresome.
Well, we would need to do something about Graham and Flake. Week Senate GOP leadership makes everything worse.
Does the shutdown affect the illegals?
51% has to scare the crap out of the democrats,
as they face 7 more years of DJT.
The media is so far unsuccessful in pinning this on
the pubbies. Hopefully when the people see that
republicans CAN get something done and actually lead,
we may see midterms where the incumbent party doesn’t
lose, but gain seats!
The demorats have chosen this hill to die on,
let us help them to do so.
Border security on the ground is left unpaid.
Nuclear?
well...a good hard@$$ firehosing might do it!
But TRUMP.45 Cocked & Locked knows best!

Semper TRUMP.45 IF WE CAN KEEP HIM?

“What about McCain, Graham, and the other RINO sellouts?”
That is where the problem lies.
I doubt little can "bring them in line". Trump is turning out be a steadfast true leader. As for Sessions, it's still my belief that he and Trump are playing rope-a-dope as new revelations about Fedgov agency partisan corruption is coming out weekly.
I have hope for the first time in many years.
Simplicity and Continuity!
My policy!
The old KISS method!
Semper TRUMP.45 Cocked & Locked!

Well, there were 5 dems who voted yes. If they dont change their votes, Linda & Co. can go scratch.
