Lawmakers from California have proposed a bill that would compel companies making more than $1 million to turn over half their tax-cut savings to the state in order to fund programs that support low-income and middle-class families.
Assembly members Kevin McCarthy, D-Sacramento, and Phil Ting, D-San Francisco, have proposed an Assembly Constitutional Amendment that would enact a tax surcharge on California companies, in order to help people who have been negatively affected by the GOPs tax overhaul, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Trumps tax reform plan was nothing more than a middle-class tax increase, Ting said in a statement. It is unconscionable to force working families to pay the price for tax breaks and loopholes benefiting corporations and wealthy individuals. This bill will help blunt the impact of the federal tax plan on everyday Californians by protecting funding for education, affordable health care, and other core priorities.

fixed it...
The sad part is californicate people move to other states and bring their politics with them. They’ve about destroyed Texas and Colorado.
Vindictive political attack on Apple for touting the business positive use of the tax relief on corporations.
Apple should let a contract on the lives of these two Ameritrash free enterprise enemies. Until people like them are gone, there will be no relief from the thievery
Im in favor of it. Ive always said that if the Federal government cuts taxes that is good for federalism. When the federal government increases taxes that ties the states hands. They have to cut taxes. If the federal government cuts taxes then the states have the opportunity to increase taxes if they want to do so. States like California SHOULD increase taxes. If California increases taxes then the California politicians will temper their demands for higher taxes at the federal level because their taxes will already be high.

This is banana republic stuff, I just thank the Lord that I do not live there.
If the people of CA don’t see this as the communist thing that it is, they deserve what they are getting.
If more businessmen and corporate executives could see beyond their next payroll or quarterly report, they’d stop supporting all the various immigration schemes and amnesties designed to flood the US with cheap labor. California is the example of what happens when all that cheap labor begins voting and influencing a state’s, or a nation’s, laws.
Keep supporting the cheap labor schemes and the genius businessmen can probably expect caps on executive pay, taxes on net worth, limits on the net worth of individuals, etc., and whatever other schemes the takers can come up with to take from the producers.
California is the test case.
The goose that lays the golden eggs is not yet dead, but it is stumbling around, staggering badly.
Its only refuge is to flee the state altogether, simply abandoning whatever assets still remain there that cannot be moved.
Economic refugees all.
But unfortunately, some of them did not learn their lesson, and try to bring the very culture that forced their flight in the first place with them.
See what has happened to Oregon, Washington state and even Idaho, and even now negatively affects Arizona and Nevada.
Half of their tax cut savings - but...but....that just sounds like crumbs.
Something is rotten in the state of Kalifornia.
What happens when you start to believe your own propaganda.
I agree...Californians deserve this government.
Californians, you seem to have the choice to submit, rebel peacefully, rebel violently or walk.
Cali going full Venezuela
Everybody didn’t vote for these communists pal.
Correct. Social Workers are the true parasites of society. Wherever they have gotten a foothold, Madison, Wisconsin in the early 60s-70s is a great example, they have created the need for their services by recruiting an underclass of leaches.
Government is dependent on a leaching underclass for their plantation.
What is the over/under on how long it takes Ca. to become Venezuela?
As if one Kevin McCarthy wasn’t enough.
Commiefornia outdoes itself again. While they’ve been navel gazing or whatever they’re obviously unaware of the mass outflow of their businesses to other states.
I walked almost 40 years ago.
