The countrys women ice hockey team launched an attack on the government following its decision to raise the teams roster from 23 to more than 30 to include athletes from the hermit kingdom.
"Taking roster spots from South Korean athletes who have put so much effort for the Olympics - a dream stage for all South Korean athletes - for the North Koreans is not fair at all."
"We are utterly speechless that the government just picked us out of blue and asked us to play with total strangers at the Olympics.
A survey released by the office of the Souths National Assembly Speaker and television network SBS revealed that more than 70 per cent of citizens oppose the idea of South Korea and the hermit kingdom forming a joint team for the games.
However, more than 80 per cent who participated said they wanted North Korea to take part in general.

And for those who aren't fans, no, you cannot add unknown athletes to a hockey team a month before the tournament and have any chance of playing together as a team, much less winning.
At least not ALL South Koreans are imbeciles.
did young South Koreans vote for Moon? Well they get what they asked for!

North Korea actually has athletes that are capable of playing hockey?!
Yes thanks to Chinese funding the place and Russia helping upkeep their weapons program...the country does have more going for it than labor camps.
Like the NFL, I will be boycotting the Olympics if No. Korea is there. (Actually, I never watched that crap before so won’t miss any of it)

Are the parents of South Korea players already complaining about ice time for their little Gretzky’s?
As a hockey coach, that’s funny right there!!!!
Unfortunately, probably universally true as well.
Let the North Koreans field a team, get their asses beat, and be done with it

I was a hockey coach. I used to have parents standing along the boards with stop watches. After games they would pull me aside and tell me how much ice time their kid got that game. At one point I had 6 parents screaming at me. I went into my bag, pulled the contract they signed and told them to find the part where it says all players get equal ice time.
Before the next practice I called a parent meeting. At the meeting I gave every parent a choice. Pull your kid from the program with no refund, go to program management to get me fired whereby your kid will never see the ice again during a game, or let me do my job and teach your kids how to be better players.
I couldn’t believe it but they tried to get me fired. That’s when I learned the biggest lesson about coaching youth ice hockey. The job of an ice hockey coach is to prevent the one parent who forced the program to take their kid despite his lack of skill from convincing every other parent that you shouldn’t be coaching the team.
I had a kid in Squirts who couldn’t stop. Literally he stopped by going full on into the boards and when he came to the bench for a change, he’d take his stick and chuck it like a spear and throw himself head first over the boards and use the bench to pull himself over. When I told the parents that I had to be careful when I played him, they got all heated. I said they can either have a kid who sees less ice time than the other kids OR they can have a paralyzed kid. They put him in a Laura Stamm class immediately. LOL...
My son was a skating coach with Laura Stamm. He also did a lot of work with Planet Hockey
Cool! I did alot of camp work during the summers. Army, CanAm, UConn, Yale etc...
