Republicans call for release of memo on alleged surveillance abuses

Republican members of Congress, mostly conservative, are calling for the release of a brief memo written by the House Intelligence Committee about alleged FISA surveillance abuses. The committee had voted along party lines Thursday to allow House members to read the memo. [snip]

But the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-California, characterized the memo as misleading and inaccurate. The committee, Schiff explained, had voted Thursday along party lines "to grant House Members access to a profoundly misleading set of talking points drafted by Republican staff attacking the FBI and its handling of the investigation."

"Rife with factual inaccuracies and referencing highly classified materials that most of Republican Intelligence Committee members were forced to acknowledge they had never read, this is meant only to give Republican House members a distorted view of the FBI," Schiff's statement said. "This may help carry White House water, but it is a deep disservice to our law enforcement professionals."

We want this evidence to be released now. We want to know who in the FBI broke the law and used FISA as a tool to spie on the Republicans!! Why the delay?

If that’s the best excuse Full of Schiff can come up with, the memo is actually gold!

For example: it shows long-time Clinton confidant and Mr. fixer Sidney Blumenthal vouched the veracity of the dossier to the FBI...according to Hannity. That’s blasphemy

I thought this was a Democrat memo from the last admin concerning FISA warrant? This is nothing but a Republican talking points memo? How in any way is this damning for anyone?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the names of GOPe NeverTrumpers mentioned as part of the coup.

I was curious what the lame stream’s slant would be once they found themselves unable to ignore this.

I see they are letting dim Schiff put the “profoundly misleading and inaccurate” spin on it.

“This may help carry White House water, but it is a deep disservice to our law enforcement professionals.”

Where was Schiff’s concern for law enforcement when they were being vilified by Obama?

I’d put McCain’s name there and add Jake Tapper just for kicks.

Wasn’t this memo provided to the “intelligence committee” by the DOJ? Where exactly did the memo originate?

I must me pure gold if Schiff doesn’t want the public to see it.

Of course the first three full paragraphs after the set-up sentence are attacks and excuses by Dems. The only charcterization of the memos in that first sentence is “brief.” Nowhere does it say this memo is a summary of a long investigation. The disinformation media carries on.

One's already been exposed - John McCain.

I want to see it in black and white. McCain has already received his sentence. If he can tied directly to sedition he will go down in history as a loser, a turncoat, and a crooked piece of criminal excrement.

Sounds like the memo was written by the Republican majority on the intel committee. Schiff knowing it is harmful is already establishing the narrative that it is a partisan document. As soon as it is released the MSM will join him and blast it as a partisan doc to try to limit the damage. That is why it is essential that there be plenty of smoking gun supporting documentation that references the charges in the memo and lots of guys dragged before the committee again to plead the fifth on camera to overcome the Dem assault on the memo
