Well ... then you are the exception ... I have had it happen at Intel a couple of times. Also happened at Motorola AMD National-Semi Lattice TI Maxim Qualcomm Teradyne and a few smaller companies that have since gone BK. The longevity is around 3 years until it happens. My close friend had it happen to him at Cisco. I have had other close friends that had it happen at HP/Aligent and Cadence. So I don’t know what company you are working for BUT it is certainly the exception. BTW I’m a chip designer. And please don’t make me laugh about “the law” These companies skirt “the law” at will. I've not seen it at all, nor have my friends at Citi, PWC, Fidelity, or Chase.

My company may be high on ethics, but I doubt it. It is speculation on my part, but I suspect you're experiencing poor performers who are being replaced by higher performers, but again, that is speculation on my part, as is your speculation.
